Got a 446 "pro" for $10, looking like it's never been used. No start. Inspired to try to fix now, if pstrs are available.

Rock on, Scott! Keeping coming out with kick ass content! How's the tool chest? Hope you're doing well.

I'm glad you enjoy it! As for the tool chest, I have a lot of ideas but no time for those mods right now. Winter seems to offer more tool box mod time so stay tuned.

Do they make any two stroke landscaping tools that are oil injected? I'm a bit out of touch with this stuff since going cordless electric for my tiny little yard

I don't think so. Can you imagine the consumer confusion? Its hard enough to get them to look in the bar oil tank at each fill up.

True enough. I have a question for you, if you don't mind. I'm looking at an older jet ski and the guy says the "Entrant crank seals have failed" but I can just run premix and it'll be fine. That doesn't sound right to me. Wouldn't I have to plug off or remove the oil injection system and possibly some vac lines and electrical stuff too? It's an older Kawasaki 650 two stroke if that makes any difference

@@BruceLyeg I don't know about anything being fine with a crank seal problem but I do know that if you are jetted for straight gas and then you add oil to that gas you will be running lean. The oil displaces some fuel so rejetting would be required. As for just removing oil injection and running pre-mix, ya its done all the time, usually in racing. Pulling up to a gas pump with a jetski or sled that needs premix can be a challenge. How much oil do you add? I wouldn't be comfortable adding it after the gas tank was filled.

Poulan really shouldn't use "pro" when the product isn't. Especially when there are words like "ultra", "extreme" and "super sport" out there.

Its simply running to rich. You need an education in 2 cycle engines.

Thanks for watching, Ken. Can you recommend any books or videos that would help me understand 2 cycle engines better?

@@TheGreasyShopRag Sir the best way to learn is from experience. Listen to the engine told me that it was running to rich. When making carburetor adjustments go slowly and allow the engine to stabilize. Remember fat and happy is better than lean and mean. Also older mix will make the engine sound like it is running rich. Incomplete combustion as the older mix is more difficult to ignite. Your on the right track. Best wishes Ken
