Potty Training a Pug Puppy Part 2 | Indoor Potty Solutions

This is a continuation of Bowser’s “Potty Training a Pug Puppy | Our Experience” That video got a great response so I added some more tips that I got along the way and bowsers new potty routine. I hope it helps someone!
Specifically things we’ve found work and done about dogs kicking up their leg to pee indoors on the floor. Some indoor potty training solutions for stubborn pugs.
Most things in the video listed are from Amazon but the pet carrier is from Walmart, approx 50$ CAD. Its 26.5” in size and it is listed as SP brand. It’s budget friendly to other products I have spotted online.

Glad that Bowser now has his very own "private dumping" place. Good effort!

I'm going to be trying some of these solutions with my younger pug, she won't go outside when it's cold but she only gets the pee pad 50% of the time. Thanks for showing how you figured things out!

😂😂 Well Bowser is officially a leg-lifting pee pug!!! So is my 7.5 y/o Roascoe. Now I have 11 week old Pugarella, and she is a cute frisky handful. I too am potty training, but in my case its a little girl pug. Roscoe and Pugarella stay in my front room which has wood flooring. I have very few accidents with Roscoe, but I do still have to watch him. Oh, and I see that Bowser, just like Roscoe, has to go over the area just to make sure he hit it good enough. LOL!! Sometimes Roscoe hits a spot from one side, then comes back to get it from the other, then again. He is so funny, just like all pugs. Thanks for the video! I'll be posting a video of my silly pugs sometime today on my channel. Take care - Ted, Roscoe and Pugarella

Hello. Love Bowser. At what age (month) did Bowser start lifting his leg to pee? Also, is Bowser neutered? My pug is Mr. Bean and he is 7 months old. He is in-door potting trained...for pee. I hope he does not lift his leg to pee as it can be messy. 😢. Even though mine pees on the pad, he sometimes steps on it and tracks it as he walks around. We always have to wash his paws as a result. Mr. Bean is getting neutered this month as he is starting to hump everything 😂. I was told one of the effects of this procedure is that it might stop his urge to lift his leg to pee. I hope it does for mine. 😬

Hello! 😊 Bowser started lifting his leg around 9 months of age. He is neutered. It obviously causes problems for in door potty training so that’s why I made this updated potty video to hopefully help others that maybe had the same problem as us. I usually change his pup pads often but Bowser doesn’t like to step in his pee or poo he’ll go to great lengths to step over it so he doesn’t have to step in it. I hope Mr. Bean (adorable name btw) doesn’t start to lift his leg lol! but if he does there’s stuff you can do, Bowser lifts his leg all the time now but he never pees on the floor with his litter box in place. Hope this helped! Thanks so much for watching. 😊

First like 👍 In fact, teaching a puppy these habits is similar to teaching a child to get out of diapers and start using the toilet. But in the end the effort will be rewarding. #bowserfan 😍

No not at all!! Just personal preference. My little guy goes outside and then during the day if we are at work he will use his indoor pads.

When I go to work I leave some toys (that are safe to be left alone) water food and pee pad. I someone put peanut butter or treats in kongs to keep him busy for an hour or so then after that he just naps and plays with toys. You can also leave the tv on for them if you want with nature sounds and video. I have a puppy cam so it helps me to check in on him during the day to see he’s still doing good. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching 😊
