I remember my mother making this for dinner. She has been gone for a long time, it’s my turn to try and make them for my wife. Thanks!

I'm looking forward to trying this recipe. I learned to make the dumplings from grated raw potatoes many years ago and passed that on to my kids and grandkids. Now we can add another Polish dumpling to our repertoire. Thanks for sharing your recipe video.

my husband is polish and every now and then I try to cook something to remind him of his childhood. I made favorki, pierogis, rogaliki, bigos...I love how your recipes are simple to follow and there is no voice over. I would love if you could make more....Thanks

I’ve just made it again last night because my husband made too much mashed potatoes over the weekend. It came out perfectly. We use milk and butter in our mashed potatoes. Sometimes cream if we want it to taste extra rich. The flour and eggs hold the mashed potatoes together in this recipe. I highly recommend it!

Looks easier than squeezing it through potato press! What's in the mashed potatoes?

A bit of milk and butter. The key is to use smooth mashed potatoes. Some people prefer chunky. If that’s the case I’d highly recommend mashing to a smooth consistency before using it in this recipe. I hope this helps 😊

I use milk and butter. Sometimes sour cream in our mashed potatoes. A bit of salt and that’s it. This dumpling recipe is really good.

Four to six cups of flour to four cups of potatoes is a lot of flour. Don't these dumplings turn out hard and dense as rocks?

They always turn out pretty tender. 😊 You can stop at 4 cups but it really depends on how moist your mashed potatoes are. It’s important not to over mix. I imagine overworking the dough could result in tough dumplings. Happy cooking!

That’s roughly 2lbs of mashed potatoes

That’s correct! It's about 4 cups. The beauty of this simple recipe is that you can easily scale in down. So if you only have 2 cups leftover, just add one egg and cut the flour and salt amount in half. Happy cooking!
