Do it, Richard! Do it! I've only done a few actos at parks and have enjoyed every one of 'em, even if I only got two contacts out it all. QRP works pretty nice on CW and it's always just amazing to me that I can snag Qs with 5W and a wire up a tree. (First time was back 1971; latest was a Q with a guy in Germany.) Get yourself a little radio (stay away from the "8 band uSDX" boxes on eBay), a nice key (like the Begali Adventure or Traveler or one of Doug Hough's PortaPaddles) and get out there and have fun. . . . Nice thing about QRP CW is you don't have to wear a mask, though I'll admit that being vaccinated allows you to bite people legally.

Cool looking radio! I like the way you stabilize your keyer too.

Yes, it’s 3D printed. I bought it, but it’s too light and even a bit flexible for my heavy hands. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the video but I cannot see where your feed line came out from your antenna. I also don't understand what the wires from the tip of your antenna are for. What does 44 mean?

Tak. Mialem zamiar zrobic sync z filmem z kamerki ktora widac na statywie, ale w koncu lepiej wyszlo nakrecone telefonem z reki. Dlugo wolalem bez skutku i nie zawsze magrywalem, w koncu sie miejsce na kamerce, wiec tym razem nie uzylem tego co sie nagralo. Moze nastepnym razem jak bedzie pille up (oby :-)

witam serdecznie, piszę z polecenia SQ5EBM. Szykuje się do egzaminu w UKE dnia 6 wrzesnia, mam już istny mętlik w głowie, kupa strachu i w ogóle meksyk. Testy ogarniam, ale te kody Q jak na razie idzie mi jak krew z nosa. Czy mógłbyś udzielić jakiejś wskazówki na co się przygotować podczas egzaminu i do czego przysiąść najbardziej? mam obawy że wyłoże się na czymś co umknie mojej uwadze A bardzo zależy mi na tym aby zdobyć swój znak. Będę wdzięczny za jakąkolwiek wskazówkę. Pozdrawiam Tomek z Wielunia 😉

W Warszawie miałem literowanie (i podchwytliwy znak z cyfra na koncu - czy jest poprawny - nie jest), w sumie tylko i pogadanke "dlaczego chce byc krotkofalowcem". Co do kodów Q to według mnie wystarczy: QRM, QRN, QRL, QSO, QRX, QSY, QTH, QSL Nie ma co się bać. Ogólnie mam wrażenie, ze jak sie przejdzie pisemny to ustny to bardziej pogadanka. Mogą pytać o to co źle zrobiłeś na pisemnym, bo kolegów pytali, ja miałem 100% więc mnie nie. Powodzenia de SQ5VCO

@@AdamSQ5VCO dziękuję za pomocne wskazówki, jestem po szkole elektromechanicznej więc testu się nie boję, bardziej przerażały mnie odpowiedzi ustne. Egzamin mam w Opolu 😉 po egzaminie będę wojował z spółdzielnią mieszkaniową aby wyjść z anteną na dach, łatwe to nie będzie niestety. Pozdrawiam, dalekich łączności 😉

It's not a ring, but a few zip ties. It can be seen up close in my first POTA vid. I just slide it on the mast until it won't go further.

I plan to make a video about this, but let me share some of the details here. I use a SW-3B QRP transceiver (40/30/20m) and a homebrew EFHW antenna. Power is provided via 3x Li-ion batteries in a battery cradle I’ve put in a supplement pill-box and soldered in thicker wires and screw-on connectors. The key I use is a 3D printed one with magnetic return I purchased from a well-know Polish ham radio shop ERcomER. The key I use in the shack in other videos is a Polish made Prector with magnetic return made by SP2SWT. The camping tarp is Fresh Tarp from Decathlon. Folding red chair was purchased during my last vacation the Baltic Sea, but you’ll get one easily from a fishing supplies store. The camping table is Qisiewell.

The metal plate has been affixed to the table once and remains there, I just recorded the first time for people to see.

Adding "/p" after you called CQ POTA isn't really needed
