We just did the same as you. Left the big rat race and bought a farm. We homeschool our children and self sustain. I have two hogs and this is very informative.

Mine passed away of old age at 15. I am so sad but feel blessed to be with him. That we were together all those years.

I loved my potbelly, she was so fat and adorable, and its true! They love belly scratches and its so funny watching them slowly lie down and flop over on their side for a good scratch.

lol i love this chick shes so funny like most women arent that funny for whatever reason but she is and entertaining, seems like a really positive happy person people gravitate to, im moving to florida soon enough she seems like a cool person to chill with, idk if she ever hangs out with fans but that'd be cool to go check out the farm and shit see her pig and everything i love pigs and always thought about getting one myself

Our vet does our mini gottinger pig hooves every year when she gets her shots yes you need ear defenders she is just in a field as a pen she also has a kiddy pool and she has a little plastic igloo we call it a pigloo and I do clean out the straw when it’s been very wet we feed her mini pig food but she also gets scraps of vegetable wind fallen apples and left over bread pasta etc so hi Neil to you and Becky from Wilma pig and me here in Belgium

Contact your local animal shelters, if they don't have one, they may put you on a list or put you in contact with someone who is looking for an adopter. A lot of people take them on and end up getting rid of them because its more than they bargained for.

My best friend’s Potbelly pig just had her babies 6 girls and 4 boys and in the 2 months were adopting a little all black girl and there so cute!

Neil is an interesting, fun beast, and you treat him well. I think you treat your meat hogs well though their life is unfortunately short. I watch your videos because you teach independence and self-sufficiency. I get encouragement and inspiration from your "can do" attitude. I wish I had your energy, and abilities. Thank you Becky this was helpful. I just got one. Turned out he was a service pig who lost his human. He was left to the son who just didnt know how to care for him. He wasnt feed correctly and is very thin. I'm new to pigs but I'm the type of person to research everything till I know all the information I can then learn the rest by experience. I'm very happy to have him his name is Chippy

Thank you SO much for rescuing him. Please don't take this video's advice on feeding. Feed Pot belly pig (specific) kibble, and lots of fresh vegies and occasional fruits. Fresh water always - esp when eating their kibble. And change that pool water regularly. It can get filled with bacteria and become unhealthy. Your pig could use a checkup, and should have his nails done, and teeth checked. (The vet may want you to give him vitamins/mineral supplements for a while.)

Get more hay the reason why they use hey is because it decomposes right away and creates Heat because they don't sweat they can't regulate their heat and it's harder to stay warm without a heat source

I don’t give my animals meds. The best thing you can do for your pig is not over feed it and give it the biggest pen you can, so it can walk around. Pigs hate blazing sun, so make sure it has dark shade. Build it a pig house like Neil’s and give it hay so it can build a nest in its house. Give it a big water pan! ☀️❤️☀️

I have one thing to say: PIGGIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel better now. I have two, and I crawl right in with them in their piggie shelter, they bitch a little, but it's the price they have to pay for fresh rice, powdered milk, oatmeal and peanuts. I compost the piggie poop, mix in a lil coco and grow a few (legal) pot plants here in California.
