Most of these so-called 'myths' are practically helpful, like drinking hot water and taking hot water baths, tying stomach in (as it not only helps flatten the tummy but provides much needed support to your back as well). And eating rasam rice is beneficial for everyone!

@Kavya RG south Indian myths. May be required for their weather. However, tummy binding is not required. And medically, if you delivered through a c section, early mobilization is mandatory to avoid back pain.
Being a new mom dealing with post-pregnancy hair fall, I've discovered five wellness tips to control my hair fall. Firstly, I've revamped my diet, emphasizing nutrient-rich foods like green veggies and fruits, and lean proteins. Secondly, I've chosen gentle hair care, stopped hair styling with heat. Thirdly, Frequent scalp massage with natural oils like littleextraa cocoonion hair oil has improved circulation and hair growth. Fourthly, Stress management through ways like yoga and meditation has also made a significant difference in reducing hair loss. Lastly, cleansing hair with gentle hair shampoo again from littleextra coconion worked for me. These tips have aided me regain healthier, dense hair.
After delivery, I observed my hair fall but I stayed calm. I took action to to control it. I opted for a health-centered approach. I prioritized my nutrition, eating vitamin-packed foods, especially those high in Protein, Biotin. I exercised daily and engaged in meditation for stress control. I avoided tight hairstyles and stopped using heated styling tools to prevent hair damage. I even started using LittleExttra's Coconion shampoo, hair oil combined with a neem wood comb. The outcome was hair fall control and the return of my confidence.

I dont know whether tying cloth around tummy help to get reduced size. But it helped me to support as shock absorber while walking. I delivered through c section in govt hospital. On 4 th day of delivery doctor advised me to tie a broad banded cloth around waist. It helped to walk without shivering. Before the waist tying due to stiches i was unable to walk straight and body started to shiver. So many waist belts are sold commercially in online for post delivery. So tying cotton clothes as per elders advise is not that much harmful

I had no one to take care of me post my c section. My husband was there with me but he had to resume work on the 3rd day of my delivery and I got discharged on the 5tg day of my delivery. When we got home I had no one to bathe me or my baby, make food for us, clean the house nothing. So my husband and I used to have bread and Jam or most of the time we ordered in. And I used to do all the chores on my own. I didn't follow any of the postpartum things, and my baby is 8 months old now and I am fine with an ample mill supply for my baby.

Some of it if you don't follow, the after effects can be felt later in your life, when you are 40 +. Not only Indians, the non Indian races also hv a few similar things to follow. In our Morden world, where most of the women are working, it's not so practical to follow I guess.

Instead of tying cloth around the belly, belts are available with back support specially designed for post pregnancy. I used one. All points concludingly helps us heal, i don't how many know about this but i did heat the coal and gave warm to my joints and my back, i somehow feel these all helped me stay strong. And frankly speaking this is nothing to relate with mother in law daughter in law concept, it's practically beneficial for us if we follow.
Everything that said by older people is not wrong dear.
For some people .... following these practices is very very helpful and needed.. for some even if they dint follow, there wont be any problem... Drinking water is so important for milk supply, to help if you had blood loss or became dehydrated during long labour. Also you have higher risk of blood clots for 6 weeks after giving birth - so walking and drinking water helps (keep blood moving and ensure blood isn't over concentrated). UK medic (not an O&G though!).
Thanks Gone through all of this....
Hi anupama, Yes, some of these are myths. But, there's no harm in breaking it. Because complete bed rest and all was helpful during women used to do all household chores n lift weights and all.. What type of strenuous work we do to take I mean "complete bed rest" actually can affect us physically and mentally.. Kind of focused only on baby stuffs. I have not had much of hor water and climbed stairs, did mininal walk as and when I felt. Its just listening to our body and mind, when to take rest and when to just chill..
Surely they are not myths. For our climate in India these are important.
These all are helpful tips mam. It's no myth
🤣🤣..... I remembered , me getting all these advices..... Thank god, I didn't follow any of these myth. Always listen to your gynecologist.
It's always good practice to tie stomach during postpartum. The reason is that, during pregnancy abdomen muscles are seperated. For some women those muscles join back naturally after 2 to 3 months. But some with weak core muscles need binding. And if the muscles remain seperated forever then it's called as diastasis recti which is very common health issue with the women who had a delivery.
Please make a video on symptoms during pregnancy, how many scannings and blood test they have to go though, and piles of tablets they take. Even they manage to smile and keep control of their mood swings for others
the comment section is proof that the myths are so deep rooted.
Centuries old traditional knowledge is being dumped as myth by today's generation just because of insufficient research and experience. What they took years to write and prepare is being discarded by a one day goofke search, sometimes not even that much! It's sad and shameful
Well these aren't just myths ,they actually are quite helpful ..
Chill! She didn’t say not to bed rest. But staying on the bed and not doing anything even milder exercises like walking (if you’re able to) will likely cause thrombosis. Plus it helps to feel back yourself but do it only if you feel like. Note: I’m not a medical expert. Just my personal experience
Somebody please show this to my relatives😂😂
These are not myths......drinking cold water post delivery also affects teeths of mother in future
*These are not Myths... These are "FACTS"...!!!!*
Drinking excess water dilutes the milk while also the post partum body will be susceptible to cold easily. Hence the rules.
Hi, I just want to share few things on this. They are not myths. What ranjinivk ji said is ryt. They are so helpful. I was infected with urine infection as i idint take much water initially. In olden days like 90s taking less water applicable but not in the current climatic conditions and also we are on medication after delivery so we have to take enough amount water but it should lukewarm. We have to take greens in our diet like methi which helps alot in milk production, garlic helps to heal the body and produces milk, curry with raw papayya etc.
Actually for tie you stomach until you hip is to make sure the mother not walking fast in few week after childbirth. Since some people too active can lead to another disaster specific for people have C section. Drink hot water help expertly people have a cold physical (easy to air enter the body) ( easy get bloated ) ( that why drink brown sugar hot water help in menstruate month ). Not eat a lot but something light not oily or spicy .
Warm water for drinking ,warm water for bath, Lots of rest for complete healing n eat a lots of healthy food...don't think about weight gain ,drink milk to get a ample amount of milk supply for your baby....that's how it was my postpartum thanks to my mother in law...n i really can tell it works wonder...
Most of these are not myths. our grandmothers done these and live their healthy life.
Drinking lots of water helped me a lot, hydration is necessary when it comes to make milk for your baby.. its increases milk production
I have 3month baby...I m also faced this....now climate rainy season...only drink hot water... weight also increase....so sad
Actually most of these are not myths. Your body needs rest to recover, you might look fine from the outside, but the placenta has left a wound inside and it needs to heal. Exposing yourself to too much cold water and air is not good, because after giving birth your wind channels are open and body is losing heat. So its important to keep warm. These things seem irrelevant right now but the effects show later on in life as severe body aches
I'm a Brahmin and respect all the customs and they Re worth!
By the way most of the things said here are not myths. It's all true. Don't right off our traditional methods of post delivery care. It's not for anyone else but the mother herself
These are actually helpful for the postpartum recovery... Not everything can be ignored in this generation.. as a mom of 3 these should be followed as I had suture I couldn't tie
And nobody will say to burn yourself in very very hot water ..it's just that use warm water for bath in order to prevent your body from cold water shock as our body is going through delicate and rejuvenation phase after postpartum.
There is a reason behind everything.... don't be super smart sitting at home after doing mba
Elders best advice for our health Plz don't criticize them without knowing science
@shanthinilaksmanan

Few are myths and few are true. A new mom needs to eat balanced diet for her recovery as well as for milk production not just rasam rice. Breast milk Constitutes 70℅water, so we have to be hydrated, it will not enough to just wet the lips. Tying the stomach will help in solidifying the abdominal muscles and for fast recovery. Our elders have given us few rules to follow, its better to follow the things which are scientifically true rather than following everything blindly.
@vishnupriyashakrabaniraman6415
2 жыл бұрын
After postpartum the first advise my doctor had is to drink more water and eat balanced diet. The reason being breast milk comprises of 90 percent water. Definitely a big and dangerous myth busted
Our ancestors weren't stupid, were they? Even after giving birth to 10 of kids they lived active for 90-100 years... My granny was the same... There are lot of things that might need little changes but they are not useless or myths at all... Tieing your tummy does make difference... I'm on my 4th month and for delivery and postpartum I'm going back to western ghats (my village 😊) I'm gonna enjoy being pampered by the house full of experienced ladies 😁😁😁 Don't put anything online before doing proper research on it, since you have decent number of followers... It's not something optional, it's mandatory, it's your duty.
But the taking rest part is so true because it's like only one of those sanctioned time for women to entirely rest and rejuvenate. If we miss this, like I did, then when we need a break and when our body needs the rest, elders always find a way to go back to this time and say, "even one week after delivery, you were so active, why are you complaining now?"
Vera level unga videos
Most of these myths had a good reason behind it. Giving hot water actually meant that you would give boiled sterilized water. But as with all customs we took it the extremes. So try and understand the custom and follow it if it is good then reject it.
Some of them might be myth.. but our old generation used to tell everything for a reason..
All the things u told except the drinking of water, is actually not myth.. It's very helpful and essential. Drink enough water too...
Thanks for saying mam its vary helpful to me..myths❤
Eating lots of food is not something others advise, it happens naturally when a woman breast feeds especially in the first 6 months. I would feel so hungry after breast feeding and I was told to restrain since eating some foods would make baby colic. Only bottle gourd, squash, snake gourd and ridge gourd. Lots of ginger and curry leaf powder with some kind of digestive laddoo in the morning. And lots of ghee and only rotis with veggies in the evening. This was for 3 months and after that I ate anything, everything for 9 months.
Not sure about others things but bed rest is must. I faced severe back pain and chills when I started little walks and small house chores after one month of delivery. Aunties and maids told me not to walk but I only believed after i faced the terror 🤣

No it’s not ma .
Most of these so-called 'myths' are actually true. Trust your family elders and ancestors. They'll never try to play with your life.
Few are correct warm water relax muscle and avoid clots while bleeding Eatng less will affect milk supply
The rest myth should stay or new mothers will be doing even more chores. As a midwife I don’t worry about harmless myths but rather focus on those impact quality of life like eating, exercising and cleaning myths that impact a woman or anyone
Very true... Because of these myths i m not able to breastfeed my baby... And beacuse of that complete bed rest thing I experienced postpartum depression also... Take rest bt don't go in isolation... And drink lots of water it helps in boosting breastmilk supply
Thank you so much
yes we learnt the same in obsgyane posting yesterday when dealing with pnc case
PlZ everything what is old is not at all myths .....as a Dr I can suggest most of it.....
Some of them are true ma'am I used to feel extremely thirsty, I was drinking almost 5 litres a day; I couldn't tie my tummy post delivery and yes my tummy is still bulging after 3 years😢😢😢 U don't need to eat too much but yes adequate amount for milk production cause milk is produced from food only. Rest is actually required to recover From all the pain and stress😊 Everything is not myth
