Revenge is four goals, three points, two Sonny assists and one red card for Villa player. Marvellous. Btw that 4th goal had 29 uninterupted Spurs passes before Timo put it in the net. Must be some sort of record to go with a magnificent performance. Thanks for the video Alasdair, always insightful.

Re Ange's unwillingness to equate 'top 4' as a goal, he's consistently said it's all about the team progressing and getting better - so that the team can win things. IF the team is progressing and advancing, top 4 will just come naturally - no need to make it a goal. The goal is to have the team progress so that they can win things. Simple!

Timo scoring again) We must not lose this feel good factor at Fulham with a poor performance otherwise Villa result will deflate the team. . Keep this momentum THFC. Thanks AG.

The point Ange was making with his reply to your Q about Van de ven’s substitution being a turning point was: The result was completely independent of vDV coming off because dragusin is a quality replacement and has been training with the team. Regardless of who is in that role, the quality, output and outcome wasn’t going to be affected. For Ange the squad and team will always be greater than the individual

Any player would want to come and play for the spurs, all this in his first 6 months at the club.. his building something special, just laying diwn the foundation 's.. i said it 5 yrs ago, his one of the best manager's in the world. The best in building a side from scratch, not spending millions and having 5/6 transfer windows to do so.. thats why his the best.. His old school , with a modern touch. It’s been coming for a while and performances like that should become more common as Ange’s philosophy gets ingrained and the fitness levels required to deliver it are achieved. I felt that our game control tempo had been off recently and this was more in line with the Angeball ethos. At the start of the season our throw ins and free kicks seemed to be played so much faster and it felt like we are reverting to that recently. Although they had limited turnaround time, and it showed, we ran Villa off their feet right from the start and they never challenged in a meaningful fashion. We Never Stop !

Loved seeing son push werner toward the away stand similar to when sarr got his first goal. Whats porros favorite spice? nutmeg. Hojbjergs double fake then through ball was class. Whilst he has always shown positivity and encouragement towards the players, in the last couple of months whenever we've won a game, he's always been quick to mention just how much we still need to improve in a lot of areas. The control we're starting to exert over 90 minutes now has to be pleasing to him and shows that we are starting to reap the rewards of good work.

The key reason for such a performance is the low average of the player's ages. Young players have the stamina and tenacity that more than compensate for lack of experience. Van de Vin, Udogie, Sarr, Kulusevsky, Johnson, and even Royal are all in their early twenties and the rest of the players are not much older. Maybe only Son is above 30 and he is no slouch. Davies is also a devoted and loyal player. Not to mention the other youngsters on and off the bench.

Thank you for the video Alasdair. It was a great performance, and hopefully the team can build on this to get some consistency. In regard to the injury to Van de Ven on the late offside call, I think I recall John Stones and Ederson being injured on late offside calls earlier in the season. This certainly seems to be a rule that needs to be changed to protect players. Overall, happy with how everyone played, and hope for a win against Fulham.

I'm studying journalism and we get a lot of journalists in to speak with us, their main message is always to "do your time" in terms of doing the gritty jobs and putting in the effort to build yourself up in the world of journalism. Where did you start and what kind of work did you have to put in to get where you are and become one of the most respected Spurs writers out there?

Excellent analysis (as always!). It makes such a big difference to my week when Spurs do so well at the weekend! Great result against a team of kickers (and yet another slightly biased ref). COYS!

Thanks Ali! What a great performance by everyone. The only criticism I had was Brennan's terrible limp shove on McGinn after the red card. Shove him like you mean it! And you, Gold, how can say the words "if you know your history" without following it up with "it's enough to make your heart go ooooooh". Sort it out!

Really apprehensive going into the game at Villa Park if i'm honest, especially how fragile we've looked defensively as of late ... 90+mins later, probably the best performance of the season imo, truly outstanding display by the guy's + revenge tastes sweet . . . Thanks Alisdair, always love you're take on everything Tottenham related COME ON YOU SPURS ! 🤍

Enjoyed your report on the interview with Richie and Emerson (I'll check it out). I've always rated Emerson as a top team man - he's always smiling, always celebrating other player's achievements/big moments with them.

Thanks for the video Ali. The thought that we’ve only had 2 windows, and Postecoglou is only just getting started is incredibly exciting. I have a feeling with the way we’re playing it’s going to be hard to shift players, who wouldn’t want to be a part of this?

Funnily enough I had a family breakfast the morning of the match, and did not stop ranting and raving to anyone I was talking to about football that we would win 4 nil. My sisters boyfriend, Aston Villa fan uncle, and godfather all thought I was insane. And I got it absolutely right!! Nothing sweeter, thanks for the vid Ali!!

Ali you are a great story teller. I love how you tell the story of the game and weave that into the story of Tottenham. The perfectly timed quotes are like dialogue from the main characters in the drama!

An on field injury that happens because of this VAR play on and see situation has been my beef from day one. It’s done in an attempt to make up time from VAR reviews, but like stated puts players in unnecessary risk. With the money involved I can see a time when the league will be sued if there is an injury as a direct result.

Always enjoyable to listen to you Alasdair, similarly with Gold and Guest. Good balance without the hype and absolute rubbish that some others come out with, in the name of a bit of controversy.

Ali, it’s always nice to have a new video to listen to - but even nicer when we perform like we did last match. Defence was solid, Bissou, Star boy and Madders bossed midfield, and all our attackers did a great job.

The effect on Spurs Academy players of Ange;s other work behind the scenes has to be seen to be believed. Credit to Wayne Burnett and technical coaches soon seem long overdue. Delivering some very pleasing football. Sadly Fridays Under 21s 1-1 draw with Arsenal - full 90 minute coverage - is sadly missing from online access.
