I feel like your engagement was so long ago! My husband and I waited a very long time to have a reception too, 5 years! We had our Nikah and marriage certificate already and had been living together all that time 😂 however I’m so glad I actually ended up having the reception because I have so many beautiful pictures and memories to look back on and show my kids inshallah. Allahuma Barak I’m so happy you finally have finished that chapter. Marriage isn’t easy but as long as you put your love of Allah at the center of it it will be blessed inshallah. It can be combined…depends on people preference but usually people do it separate so it’s one important thing out of the way

Well really in America it would be three parts the legal stuff and the marriage license, then the religious wedding and then that and then the formal wedding
