This video kicks off a series on post-scarcity, which is planned as part of a larger series discussing futurism more broadly--current advancements in science; yet-unrealized technologies we anticipate; and how these things might change humanity. Some videos will deal with some pretty ambitious visions of the future. We'll ask how the human individual (and civilization along with him/her) might change given interstellar travel; transhumanism; the digitalization of consciousness; the advent of true general artificial intelligence; simulated reality; and more.
Following this intro to the general idea of post-scarcity, the plan is to move on to specific iterations or conceptions of post-scarcity, and the potential dilemmas or questions each of these would force us to confront.
