Post Processing Tutorial - Advanced Exposure Blending
In my last video I showed you the behind the scenes of my morning shoot at Anse Cocos on La Digue. Today I want to show you how I did the exposure blending for the second photo I took, the one where I had the sun in the frame.
This exposure blending is a little different to the workflow I showed in my previous exposure blending tutorial and you will learn some other techniques, which I frequently use.
And, if you have problems following along, watch my basic tutorials:

Awesome tutorial as always!!!
Awesome tutorial Michael. Will need to watch it a few times to fully get it but hey we all pick things up at different speeds.👍👍👍👍
Thank you! Refining the levels in lumenzia to define the edges of the mask will be much used 😊
Excellent tutorial Michael

Another very useful video, thank you I’m slowly learning and moving away from lightroom and into photoshop not just for focus blends and spot removal, Luminosity mask etc

I'm glad you got something out of this video
Awesome tutorial Michael :)
Very nice!
Thanks...so useful
Great !
why did you use curves and lumenzia to adjust the exposure back to the original (after darkening curve adjustment) of the "sun bright" layer, and then paint in the exposure of the "middle back" layer over those adjustments? I see you wanted to eliminate the flares, but why bother if you are going to use most of the "middle back" layer? I guess it makes the blending easier? Also, when you merge down layers, is that destructive; you cannot undo that? Thanks, I am trying to learn!

Hello Steve. You are right. I would not have needed to do so, since I then blended in the mid layer. But I always finish indiviual blends in my workflow, because I never know what exactly I will use from one layer or the other. Here it was quite straight forward, but there are cases where the blending is not so clear beforehand. And yes, I work destructive in my workflow. I will never change a blend when it's done. When I started with post processing many years ago I would do non destructive workflows as much as possible using smartlayers and such. But with growing experience this was no longer needed. The files are now smaller and photoshop works much faster ;-)
great Video,Thanksgiving KZread!
Do you use a tablet for the drawing or just keyboard and mouse?
