Post Corn Harvest 2023 Grazing Reduces Feed Costs.

Corn harvesting crop to sell grain and to have available to feed the sheep flock during lambing and breeding cycles. Corn is being harvested at 22% moisture and is being delivered to the local elevator to be dried and sold.
Beef cattle will graze the corn stubble because the corn is grown in fields that are fenced to allow the herd to feed. We allow the cattle to graze this because it offsets the time required to feed the herd and it reduces the cost of feeding the herd.
We typically haul the grain by gravity wagons and when we can get a grain truck into the fields then we rent trucks to haul grains to the elevators.
