I'm a Snake Eyes player myself, and I do agree with some of these hits. But I do wish it didn't have to effect so many other decks. However, Synchro decks can be extremely flexible due to the nature of how the summoning mechanics work. You just need to find the right modifiers and monsters and you can synchro just about anything

@@uncleweirdbeard86 the more i think about the list the happier I am. I do hate and complain about generic boss monsters quite a bit, this is exactly the right step. As long as chaos angel doesn't get hit (even thought I think it is a problem card) because that's the one card I actually spent some money on. I waited for baronne to be a fiver, and got savage cheap as well

Can we get a post-banlist breakdown where MBT just absolutely breaks it down with the most powerful dance moves?

Before anyone complains about the synchros being too generic again, i would like to point out that one of the cards used in the Snake-Eyes combo is not generic. Bystial Dis Pater requires dragon non-tuners. The way Snake-Eyes has been designed as a deck is very clearly part of the problem with modern card design.

To this day, I'm still angry that Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, one of my favorite monsters of all time, is completely generic. They should've made it require Clear Wing as material like in the anime, or at least restricted it to Wind or something

@@johnsmithy1796 If only they made Baronne require the syncron that the card it is an evolution of did. Would it completely stop Baronne? No. Would it stem the flow of ultra generic BS? Maybe a little.

neither of these lines plays around nib though, which is what baronne and to a lesser extent savage where used as insulation for... is nibiru just gonna be that much stronger now that they're gone?

You can replace Savage with Berserker and Snake-Eye youll be able to play through Nib

@@lolidragon588 unfortunately not, checked myself, if you draco berserker a nib it'll try to resolve as much as possible, tributing everything without summoning anything

​@@lolidragon588Even though Berserker banishes nib it doesnt stop the effect of tributing the field it just doesn't let your opponent summon nib to their field and stops you getting a token. So actually Banishing Nib with Berserker is arguably worse sometimes than just letting it tribute your field so you at least have the token lol.

​@@shimmercActually, it does depend on when they use Nibiru and the hand You (the Snake Eyes) start with . If the opponent uses Nibiru too early on during the Snake Eyes combo (which you began with Diablestarr/Wanted with a hand that have Bonfire/Ash + 1 Discard Food), Draco Berserker will actually cause the Nibiru to become a Dead Card since all it will do is trigger the GY effects of your Snake Eyes while he/she don't have anything in return

It will be stronger against combo decks sure but snake eye can still play around it. The reason these are okay hits is that linkuriboh made them resilient to BP and imperm in comparison to other link 1s. borreload/baronne in SE just made the endboard even more powerful but in theory what they really want is to survive triggering flamberge. It is a good direction but it doesn't change much really aside of what version of SE is preferred

I do play Odd-eyes vortex dragon, however I often also ended of savage dragon along with it as well.

Not really. The floodgate versions of tear arent good, and the hand rip version of snake eyes is now worse than running it with fire kings. The banlist has been entirely positive. I doubt collosus or protos are going to see much play outside of gimmicky versions of rogue decks and banning baronne, borreload and linkuroboh is objectively good. And they removed more floodgates than they added

We went from omni negates to a double handrip in snake eyes Who needs omnis if you don't have any cards in hand XD

Notice how Dispater is absolutely not cheap, compared to the cards that were banned. I know Konami Europe needs money, but come on.

As soemone who plays Master Duel and REALLY don't like playing with negates(interactions are better sue me) its surprising seeing Snake Eyes playing synchros when most builds uses Links and XYZs with the Kashtira cards

Negates are better against board breakers but those are only played post siding, MD is bo1 so you shouldn't be playing (m)any board breakers in your deck, this makes negates are less valuable unless you really want to protect your board. Negates are also really good against stun(if they negate activation or remove the card).

One of the best Snake Eye boards in MD ends with Spright Elf, Flamberge, Formula Synchron, and I:P in S/T pass. Synchro SnakeEyes is always better

@@gatocochino5594well then you don’t know md. bo1 environment means you prepare for as much as you can as best as you can. i only run evenly in my stun recently, but they’re out there, and if you’re playing like you’re in tcg you’re doing it wrong, md is a different beast. you also go against a plethora of different decks. in master snake eyes is plentiful yes but other decks do exist. negates are extremely helpful in a wide environment. synchro snake eyes is the best for a number of reasons

@@empresscarrie6230 true enough with Gold and Plat, dunno about the above ranks though but it was a fun season despite Snake Eye being fully powered. I actually fought against a bunch of unique decks so I'm probably gonna stay in plat until the reset since fighting against negate boards are fun when they only do like 2-3

I also recommend Satalite warrior with formula, doing this can help pop cards on the field and it can put out a body on the field if it gets destroyed or alternatively go for stardust warrior to have a summon negate and if it leaves you can get jet warrior to bounce or any other warrior synchro for a body

You can also use stardust for negates for destruction but I doubt it would be used

I remember every time a floodgate got hit, I would hear some people say to stun players, "If your deck needs it to work, then it should not exist." Now the shoe is on the other foot for combo players, and I wonder if that still holds true.

Snake Eyes fixing to get my entire Adventure Synchron Extra banned. 😅

And thanks to omega, dis pater negate online & can make the handloop permanent loss

I was considering the omega -> dis pater combo, but that line loses to Nibiru so I’ll keep looking

I literally said this when the list dropped that Nemesis Corridor should have been banned because of banshee and small world. If you want thunder dragon players to have their boss monster then so be it, everybody is on lock bird anyways but don't let it be splashable.

Ripping 2 cards is a lot less to deal with than dealing with 10 negates. The game is more playable imo. And fewer floodgates allow other weaker decks to thrive. Things could get goofy if we really tried

I'd rather have to deal with 10 negates than be hand ripped for two. Those two cards that got ripped could be the difference between me losing and beating that board.

I feel you. For me as a casual Yugiboomer, I play a lot of not so meta or toptier cards so for me I allways dont needed a special card or 2 because I nearly dont play combodecks so one negate was all it takes before.. With 2 or more cards less in hand it will change nothing for me or my playstyle because its a mix of mess anyways 😂 So finally less negates and I can remove my copie of Discord from my decks

For those saying “omega line is bad” I hope you realize that next format will be more board breaker focused now that Baron + Savage aren’t there to negate them. This means that ripping out the board breakers from hand will be EXTREMELY important. I also wanna highlight a line not talked about here with Evotile megachirella, which allows you to end on Apo, Falmberge with IP In backrow, your choice of Dolkka/Laggia, and Evo-Singularity set to summon Lars

⁠@@GaussianEntityit's will be in the side deck for sure, a boardbreaker approach doesn't mean you can't have any handtrap in the side deck since some decks hurt very hard by a specific handtrap

I really hope master duel gives tear a single merrli again eventually. Its amazing how MD discovered the actual ban target that really nerfs tear and neither physical formats have followed suit, merrli is OP simply because its level 2.

I forget people tried to double omega loop people when dispater first came out. God that combo line is so degenerate if you already blew a hand trap to stop them.

The best tip I can give to you all is this. If you hate this format, stay in a small community. I play with a few of my friends in a small server and I have never seen more diversity in play. I play Phantom Knights... FFS that used to be one of the most hated decks and now it's a rogue deck that relies (almost) entirely on Arc Rebellion swinging for game to win. Play with your friends until the format heals itself, and if it doesn't? Then a small community will be your best friend.

Hot take: The Baronne and Savage Bans are the worst thing the Game has done in recent memory. It was boring seeing them in every deck, yes, but they allowed for more decks to be viable even when they got bad Boss Monsters and they saved you money because you could put them in every deck, not needing to spend a big amount of money on whatever new archetypal Boss Monster they’ll be printing now… That’s if they print good archetypal Bosses at all. Baronne is still legal in OCG, leaving many decks with nothing to do except end on their horrible boss monster when going first

@@kinoalove5817 The difference is that Maxx “C” is an extremely toxic Handtrap for the game of Yugioh that is added “on top” of every Deck, while Baronne is a boss monster that fills a Good Boss-Monster filled hole in a good amount of Decks. Every Deck is in need of a Good Boss Monster to be viable, some have one in archetype, while others don’t have one at all (because Baronne is banned). Meanwhile, there’s no “in-archetype” Maxx “C” for some Decks only, no Deck needs a Maxx “C” to be viable.

​@@kinoalove5817Banning Baronne just made so many decks go from viable to gimmicky OTKS (that'll be complained about and gutted like Mathmech if they see any success) while, as this vid shows, basically doing nothing to Snake Eyes. Only difference now is you might have a Nib window. Shouldn't have been banned. At least not without swapping to the Rarity Collection printing style so having to constantly play the new tier 0 deck to even compete isn't a grand every 1-3 months.

Like the meta slave i am, i dismantled every snake card i had of snake-eye and tried to make a purrely deck, now i regret it and i created another account.

I feel like tri-brigade glads are lined up for a strong rogue deck. Prove me wrong.

So, I wanna make the most janky Lightsworn deck. Wanna try to find a way to turbo out Protos, Colossus, Krystya, Eradicator, a few negates, and maybe some hand loops. It may only work half the time but I'm sure I can find a way. Or just get lucky.

Just play 3 dragondark in tear. You draw it, you make colossus through sprind. No exclusive lines you have to go through so its free if you aee it and still the same power level if you dont.

Well, obviously. Snake-Eyes has infinite advantage. Every single action nets a free draw, search or summon. Nothing sort of limiting and banning its monsters can actually kill it.

For everyone trying to cry, these lines are extremely easy to stop and without Baronne or Savage, Nib shits on everything they try to do. Your worst case scenario is Using Nib and forcing the usual Princess into Amblo combo line.
