Historical records aren't clear on that. Some say it was actually a decipel of the Winged Dragon of Ra and others still claim it was actually the legendary Ido, a Supremem Magical Force. The most interesting accounts are those that say Ido was actually destroyed by the Despia and tied it's magic to the heros' forces, crippling them and allowing the Despia to crush them once and for all. Perhaps they're all true and glimpses into alternate realities?

how is this archetypical story not an anime? This would be an epic show.

This video was sick! I'm currently a noob trying who didn't know at all what to pick, but after this and some more looking at card art, I reaaaally want to make some sort of albaz deck with the current available stuff in master duels. I've gotten everything in the alba secret pack except albaz the ashen and a couple of UR dragons - and don't really know where to go from here, since every website says different things. Any suggestions? It looks super fun and scratches my "need lore" itch (and I now want every card shown in this awesome video).

This was a masterpiece but even that doesn't do it enough justice

There are a few problems with this one tho : Quem is the first saint of dragon dogma/dogmatika, the girl in red hair are sacrificial children for her to be possessed, because quem was already dead before the start of the story, she then sacrificed for bystial creations, while quem possessed the defeated ecclesia. her effect specifically use other monster to buff herself, mirroring her power of control others and her sacrificial status since you can't kill the high level dogmatika without killing her first while she is on the field.

dogmatika/dragon dogma believe that become a a dragon is the ultimate form of enlightenment, maximus and quem sadly met aluber instead albaz prior to the beginning of the story, aluber is actually a demon not a dragon as you can see from his real form masquerade and his name in Japanese basically means false son of God while albaz is legitimate son of God, we can see that maximus is actually a decent man in the dogmatika token artwork.

@@r3zaful what dogmatika token? also what card that shows maximus met aluber first? the rest i agree. as the name implies ; he is masquerading a dragon, but in fact, his type is fiend. aluber original type is also fairy, not dragon. I purely believe aluber does this just out of boredom, as his token flavortext said : he mocked the light while deceiving the dark. He's his own alignment.

It's amazing how much lore can be told from the art alone. I was eager to get new support everytime just to get more of the lore. Hope we'll get to see them again someday! The art, the story, the cards, branded evolved each time and it was so fun. Probably the best thing konami has ever done.

Great Video! I saw a video where the story was expanded to over an hour. And I still think that the story is so awesome, Konami should do an animated series or a videogame from it. Riot does the same with their characters from League, so why shouldn't Konami do that?

Great video mate. really enjoyed the narration, sound & graphical effects, I also really appreciate the captions, just a few notes though: @2:20 Sprind is not an Albaz transformation, instead it is a mechanical vechile created by Kitt & the springans, it's used to test Albaz & Ecclesia (who you can see inside the vechile), on their ability to join the Springans on their missions & salvages, eventually succeeding in finding lost treasures & what would be Ecclesia's new weapon in the art of Springans Booty @4:05 Albaz's Transformation is not voluntary, instead it's a result of Maximus's actions in Dogmatika, which activates his brand along with the ushering of the Thespians/Despians, also this dragon is an untamed beast, who is not in control, and casts a hazard, not only to the serpent, but also to his fellow allies, that's why he's struck by Iris/Fleur along with the serpent, he is finally tamed when he hears Ecclesia call out the name she gave him, Albaz, thus finally he is calmed, and transforms into his shrouded form

This is now the shortest, most concise way to explain to someone what the Albaz lore is. It must've taken you a while to draft the best script for this. Well done :D

konami needs to step up their game. Main series anime has been in decline since forever and the way netflix series are done nowadays they could make the amazing lore of some of the game archetypes like branded or world legacy into something like Arcane, Vox Machina, Castlevania, DOTA, etc... They could even go for an episodic take for the smaller arquetypes like one week Spyrals, the next Blackwings, the next Necroz, etc.. It has so much potential besides what they have been doing for the last 25 years, besides a hit series or movie on netflix would amp the momentum the franchise got with master duel the last couple of years introducing new people to the game also.

This is top tier content! So many Yugitubers focus on the Master Duel and TCG meta aspect of the game that the lore behind the cards is usually not appreciated enough until somebody comes along and puts it all together. Great video!

As someone who only recently got back into yugioh after not playing since 2003 and only recently playing again since master duel released on playstation, i have to say branded despia is by far my favorite deck to play, this was by far a awesone video, even wat hed a video a few months ago that basically explains the albaz lore also, its insane how the game has progressed to what it is now, hipe the branded archtype only gets stronger as the years go on. Awesome video man

This was really great to learn about the whole Albaz lore! It'd be really nice if you'd also do this kind of video for the World Legacy lore and the Visas Starfrost lore, since those are the two other major long lore series. (though I suppose Visas isn't completed yet)

this is some final fantasy shit right here... i just rejoined into yugioh and i didnt know so many achrtypes worked well together let alone connected story wise.

Really great video but I'm not really sure about the ending. Because in the art, you can tell bystial aluber exists before becoming Bystial Lubellion. In that card the dude holds the same prism that Cartesia has in her staff, so it means he gave it to her to transform her. Also, in Branded Regained it seems that Cartesia is helping Bystial Druiswurm. Also, Luluwaililith in the art shows up kicking the shit out of Granguignol immediately, so i think Alibion Sanctified is the last thing that happens. Granguignol looks like the a fusion made of Quaeritis. There was no mention of Proskenion. Also it seems that the White Relic, White Knight and Alba Zoa where ruling Dogmatika while the Ecclesia and Albaz where with the Tri-Brigade. So Alba zoa does not shows up during a battle. There is a plot hole in the story in 3:29 because if the tri brigade where battling in the city, then they were not in the dessert at 3:53. The tri brigades are shown using the blue weapons that Kitt creates after her Therion adventure, not before it. The same with Iris being captured in 9:28. There is White Relic and Granguignol shown in the art, so Granguignol exists before Cartesia even existed in 11:30. The card Branded in central dogmatika shows that dogmatikamatrix was already open when Ecclesia founds the body of Iris/ Fleourdelis, so it proves that Alba zoa was already free when she died at the hands of white relic and Granguignol. So Luluwalilith and Aliibion sanctifire where never in the same place or at the same time. So there is no ending yet as there is no explanation to what happens with Luluwalilith after killing Dis Pater. And you never mention that after the Therion adventure, Albaz has the endless Argyo sistem as pet in his shoulder.

Yeah the video departs more and more from what we already have as translations towards the end. The crystal Cartesia has on her staff from what I can tell was Aluber's objective all along, for Maximus to sacrifice all those saints and for all 666 saints to meld together as one, producing that crystal which Aluber ultimately takes with him. From memory Cartesia also treats the Bystials (apart from Aluber) like a mother, and there's no mention the Bystials were a mere shadow of their former selves as kings of the world beyond the Hole. Luluwalith surfaced after Albaz rescued Ecclesia from Cartesia's form and Cartesia's body started breaking down but Fleur's sheer power of will to save Ecclesia saw her take control and reform Cartesia's disintegrating body into Luluwalith, one-shots Dis Pater with thousands of lightning bolts then Quem ultimately takes control of the body and sets off on her own journey with the souls of all the other saints inside her, including a now dormant Fleur. Maximus becomes Alba Zoa during the events of this battle then consumes all the Bystials to become Dis Pater. I think it can be assumed that Golgonda borders the Dogmatika nation, so the battle can foreseeably be considered to straddle both areas. The Tri-Brigades' blue weapons were said to have anti-Hole properties (Maximus' power source) which was the entire reason Kitt and the Springans went to the land of steel to get more in order to help Albaz/Ecclesia. Fleur ran back to Dogmatika after one-shotting serpent Golgonda and saving Ecclesia/Albaz to confront Maximus who had become Dramaturge. She didn't succeed and Ecclesia fell to despair because of it, which was the final trigger needed for all the saints becoming Cartesia. The pet on Albaz's shoulder is in fact something else that dropped out of Cartesia during the battle and is the soul of one of the saints from memory, has nothing to do with Argyro System. In fact we see the remains of Argyro's Spright energy seep into the armour husks left behind by Bystial Lubellion and becomes Fallen of Argyro, who sets off on its own journey. tl;dr just go read the actual translations, they make a lot more sense.

@@MrDuckyart thank you. The video was a great story until stuff stopped to make sense, where most of the problems comes from the fact that a character cannot be in two places at the same time. That black creature on albaz shoulder looks a lot like the Argyro system but I haven't read the translations.

This is why I love branded, you make it feel like something bigger than any other deck (whether is real or not, it is for me).

This was amazing. I enjoyed the video and learned a lot. I just started playing Yu-Gi-Oh! A few months ago and choose to go with branded deck and have worked hard with building my deck but I didn’t know all this background history. It was wonderful to see this!!
