Basic psychology suggests this man never once tried to talk his way out of anything, or act crazy to prevent escalation. It they were legitimate they wouldn't break character so easily...unlike this dude that folded faster than a wet newspaper. They may be rendered immobile temporarily but their 'craziness' doesn't simply stop.
