Positional Play Mini Course 7/8:
Here we cover a major flaw in most players thinking - that there are just three tip positions on the cue ball of top, middle, and bottom…
We show clearly the resolution of accuracy (usually subconscious) that pros employ to get the positional play job done.
To master YOUR positional play….

    WHY OH WHY didn't I think of using a book (like this) to GUARANTEE consistent cue height????? This is BRILLIANT!!! I can't wait to try it. Thank you so so much for this!! This makes so much sense because then your only variant is cue speed and follow through. So simple (as all the best ideas are!). Thanks guys. Can't wait to try this with cushion 'marker' balls

    ....and of course, using 'doughnuts' to make set up a breeze!

    Yes it means the ONLY variable is speed!!!!! One variable at a time instead of two = learning four times as fast! Most players HAVE NO IDEA they are making height errors, so incorrectly assume that their positional play errors are due to speed errors, or height / speed selection errors.

    Hi Nic, Thank you very much for this very informative video. To be able to play snooker at an elite level, one needs to be extremely precise in their cueing.😀

    Here it is super important too, that the bridge distance is always the same other wise you would be hitting lower or higher too.

    Might I just suggest that in order to illustrate (and track) the cue balls path, an overhead shot might be a good idea so we can see the exact differences in shot approach? Thanks!

    great video. How does follow thru affect the CB, at the same tip height and cue angle? How does cue speed affect the CB path, at the same tip height and cue angle?

    Great questions! Follow through helps making sure you're accelerating throught the cueball. Cue speed affects the CB path in that it dictates whether CB is rolling forwards, gliding or rolling backwards at impact with OB. Hope this helps!

    That's fascinating how the same contact point on the cue ball can take the cue ball on completely different direction if we just change the addressing position.

    Can a worn or damp cloth affect positional play

  • @ernoeskeli1139

    @ernoeskeli1139

    Of course. An uneven cloth will always produce slightly random results in your positional play. If the cloth is evenly slow or damp then it's not as bad and all the basics of positional play will apply.

    Jon, thank you for your question! By damp do you mean humidity is high where you play? There will be differences in positional play when playing on different cloths yes. Basics always apply though.

    Do you now the secret behind colors in snooker? why yellow has 2 points, not 5? why brown located in the middle of D area?

  • @TheSnookerGym

    @TheSnookerGym

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes the yellow is worth 2 because it is not worth 5. Also, the centre spot of the D is in the centre of the baulk line otherwise it would not be in the centre.

    Probably he's asking why the baulk colors are not placed in sequence 2,3,4... Why 3,4,2? And that's why because brown is placed in the center of the table in sequence to 7,6,5,4 and then 2 and 3 are placed on sides of 4 (brown)

    Correct BSM, in fact he told me that the more books you read the more you are likely to confuse yourself. However, for those who don't have his ability or knowledge, then this level of detail is really what they need and appreciate... and which I would never have shown Alex!
