Ports of Auckland and William C Daldy Preservation Society & NZ Maritime Museum - SeePort 2021

Take a step back in time aboard the William C Daldy, the Auckland Harbour Board's (the predecessor to Ports of Auckland) first tugboat, alongside Andre, one of the port's current tug skippers. Learn about the past present and future of tugboats at the port, on board and with the NZ Maritime Museum, from this magnificent steam tugboat, to the diesel powered machines we use today and looking forward to the world's first electric ship-handling tug, Sparky, who we'll welcome to Auckland later in 2021.
Ports of Auckland’s SeePort is a celebration of Auckland City’s beautiful waterfront and rich maritime heritage, providing an opportunity for the public to learn about their port and how it integrates with Tāmaki Makaurau, working hard day and night to provide Aucklanders with an efficient supply chain to deliver the things they need and want. As the port's cornerstone community engagement event, SeePort is family-friendly and one of New Zealand’s largest free events, which returned in 2021 for its eighth year of seaside fun over Auckland Anniversary Weekend, Sunday 31 January 2021.
