In this video I show you how I draw a portrait with a ballpoint pen. After laying in light construction lines I render the forms with added tone and hatching lines. Finally I use a white pen for highlights!

I was holding my breath when you started with that gel pen. Phew! Amazing. I'm looking forward to more about how to draw a head. Thank you, Andrew!
A truly gifted genius. 😎👍
Your videos have been a lifesaver during our quarantine in California. We have been home for a month already and we are preparing to be home for another month, at a minimum. Thank you for taking us on a creative journey. It helps me tremendously and I cannot thank you enough for your encouraging words and helpful lessons!
My best friend who was a biker, a 1% as they say. But when I was struggling with my PTSD, he was always there. And as part of my therapy I started drawing and painting. And that's how I found your youtube channel and I've been following that for a while now. That has helped me a lot and I enjoy it. Thanks! Andrew keep it up.

I got got diagnosed with a rare heart disorder and took up painting as a type of meditation, if you will. Andrews channel has been inspiring and motivating. I don't think he realizes how much he helps people with his channel.

@@dianehoweart6084 those critics want to see some so called “ emotions “ in there paintings.. that’s why so many white and blank / abstract paintings are in the museum instead of these masterpieces

Exactly. I'm 66, retired now for over 4 years from a very busy and stressful career as a Nurse Anesthetist, both in and out of the US Navy. All the while, since my youth, I have drawn and painted. Yet I'm still learning, and hope to until I just can't anymore.

Hello 👋
Time for color pencils 😎😎😁😁 Andrew.
I love drawing with ball point pens, it's how i started out when i was learning to draw. you can get such great tone and form with them
some artists can only do landscapes but not good at faces. you do both so amazing
Each piece you do, whether a sketch or painting, is absolutely remarkable.
love your work! ...learning more now at 74 than I did when I was young/younger. Maybe I’ll be another “ Grandma Moses” although I don’t do folk art. Art has no age limit.

Hello. How’re you doing Helen?
Incredible
Thanks Andrew. I needed this! I was doing sketch endeavour at the beginning and it was having a positive impact on my painting like you said it would. Covid somehow caused me to lose all motivation for my usual interests and passions. The art I did went round in circles and even now I can’t seem to finish anything. I got more focussed on music and only now just starting to feel that inspiration again. I am making myself go back to basics and practice skills...intend to work on sketching, planning, colour work etc. and ease myself back into painting. See you back on sketch endeavour soon!
so amazing!
Back in the 80's I used to love sketching with a red, blue, green and black pen. I loved the fact that they all where in one pen and I did not have to change just had to click on the new color. I would sketch rooms, sports action scenes. Sometimes I would draw on water color paper and add both medias even letting the inc and water colors run together for a cool effect.
Using new mediums both challenge me but also stress me out by leaping into the unknown. I love your approach of letting things happen and putting your new knowledge to use, step by step, on the go. Again.... inspiring video ! Thank you for that.
Definitely enjoyed. It’s a masterpiece.
Quedó genial 💜
Andrew! After a long time, I was really inspired to see the work of someone! That's you!
that was just incredible. Thank you for your videos, love them.

Amazing!! 👏
Your pounamu is beautiful.. i once had one gifted to me by a tribe leader when i was pregnant in Aotearoa in the north island, they got me into the peace festival they have there, it was in the shape of a dagger, and he told me it would be my weapon and protect me... when i gave birth to my son... it vanished one day when i went swimming in the sea, they told me it gave me its purpose and went back to the waters... beautiful place full of magick.
Excellent...as usual!!!
OMG! This sooooooo GOOD!
