I'm a little late to the party, but I'm working on my portfolio right now and this is really helpful. Thanks for the great example, Mortise. Also I love the addition of "Not in the mood to read? Listen to ran" as an option to watch this portfolio review instead of reading it yourself. Really clever!

Ok, when did it start that UX and UI Designers call their work Product Design? I get that per definition something digital like a website is also a product. But isn't a UX or UI Designer designing more the visual communication rather than a whole product? Every design discipline is just a smal part of a whole product. So the term product design is very vague for the specific discipline that is UX and UI.
I do understand why long case studies seem to be appealing, but who has the time to read through all of that? Genuinely curious :)

Hi Arno, I think it‘s something you should primarily do for yourself because in the process of building a thorough case study you really reflect on your process. I learned a ton and became much clearer about how to improve. Sure, recruiters, for example, won‘t read through it (probably it‘s just headline-scanning), but I think they get a good feeling of your thought-processes (and ability to learn).
