You can also hire graphic designers to make your portfolio if you don't want the hassle. They still use yr thoughts but curate it to the best it can be.

If your company or the client for which you work for has some strict policies, then yeah. Also when placing projects you worked on with a bigger team you have to make sure to credit them in every way possible.
