***** After learning the route and how the run works, I can explain in case xcd doesn't respond (which he probably will). When he brings the turret through and puts the portal in front of it, then puts another one in the hallway leading up to glados, he lets the turret shoot at him. The bullets from the turret actually knock the cores off of glados. Kind of complicated but hope this helps.

m curgs its not single segment though. we use save+loading in order to do certain glitches, most notably in chambers 02, 04, and 10. the timing method is technically "rta w/o loads", but i'm not gonna put that in the title because it sounds stupid. however, ill make note of it in the description so there's no confusion.

+Dan Holocaust I think time is called the moment the final core is destroyed, since that happens at 8:50 (-2 seconds of blackness at the beginning of the vid) as that is when the game is technically over (no more input is required so it is pointless to keep the time running, this is common in speedrunning videos)

In response to z1m's message in the sr chat: Aside from pdper, which I have/had no involvement with whatsoever and would have preferred it to had been labeled as "Segmented", Por and dwahmov are the uncategorized world records, whereas this is the world record for a, technically, single-segment run. That's the point I was trying to get across.
