Portable Wood Fire Box or Stove for Outdoor Cooking
Portable Wood Fire Box or Stove for Outdoor Cooking
• Portable Wood Fire Box...
We get a lot of questions about what we use to cook outdoors when we're on ranches. We previously did a video on Bertha our wood stove, which is a contained fire box (you can view it here: • Meet Bertha: Outdoor C... )
However if we're going to be moving a camps a bit, it's often easier to take this portable and collapsible stove. In this video we'll give you a tour of our wood stove and show you how we use it. Thanks for watching!

I love Kent and Shannon so much and this channel. My grandpas name is Kent and he also wears a cowboy hat and has for the majority of his life and he also is a great cook. I feel bad because as a youngster, me and my twin brother would make fun of him and say isn’t that a women thing because he did the cooking in the house. One day we were doing this and he knelt down took off his cowboy hat and said “ Look here boys, a man who couldn’t cook back in the day was a dead man, and I’m one of the toughest sons a bitches you’ll ever meet. He rolls up his sleeves to show green prison tattoos, he pulls his shirt up to show a scar he got serving in Korea, he lifts his hands up and shows that he’s missing half his pinky on his right hand and missing half his pointer finger on the left hand and then paused, smiled and said come on in to the kitchen and let me show you a thing or two about cooking. Then he goes oh by the way, I didn’t chop my fingers off with a knife cutting vegetables, a chainsaw did that lol. I’ll never forget that day and you bet your bottom dollar I never teased him again lol.

Plus Shannons doing the dirty work. Trust me I do it all and its a HEADACHE editing!
When I first started watching these videos I liked them but thought anybody can get lucky with a few. But when I got into the website and saw the sheer volume of presentations available I thought wow this lady knows what she's doing. Plus, if necessary she can plant the camera and join Kent to help cook or demonstrate (cast iron) and use a big word or two every now and then!. Above all though, your videos seem homey. Even if you two make a blooper you turn it around so we all feel like hey, here's two regular people who are just like the rest of us and having fun living. Cudos to the Beag too.

I use to use 2 tractor rims stacked on each other. I cooked many meals camping with family and friends. I love cooking on an open fire. Sad to say I don’t get to do that anymore. I’m in a wheelchair now due to a horrible trucking accident. I lost both of my legs that day. So now I watch KZread and enjoy everyone else’s adventures. I love yours and Shannon’s channel ❤
hey cowboy Kent...It's really great that you point out you couldn't do what you do without the love and support of your wife. Those words go a long way in today's society and I honestly appreciate that you acknowledge that you don't do it all by yourself.BTW your quick sour dough starter is a huge hit with my family thank you so much for sharing.

Hey thanks so much
I have watched quite a few of y'alls videos, and enjoy them. Maybe it is the romantic in me, but what I enjoy most is when you talk about feeding the cowboys. You CARE about what you are feeding them. I am the cook at my house, and I "cook with love" (as corny as that sounds, I believe it). I can tell you really enjoy what you do...helping those workers get through the day. We all know that food is sort of "the great peacemaker" when you gather folks to eat. For those cowboys, it may be the best part of their day, getting to sit down and warm up with some of your stew. I applaud you for that

You are truly the real deal. I enjoy your videos.
The sad thing is, there's people that wouldn't eat off of that. Those people don't know what they are missing. Some of the best meals I've eaten have been cooked on something similar to that! Good job you guys, and God bless yall!
Thank-You Both . May God bless you and yours.
Adding you to my list of "go to" videos. I have been scouting with our youth, sometime as many as 30 at a time, meanwhile teaching them the outdoor cooking. Oh the stories I could tell. I have had parents complimenting on my choice of cookware. I was given an old nonstick teflon coated gravy pot. I use it as a water holder in case of fire or just to cool down the coals. As a fellow video maker, Ms. Shannon, your doing great. Back in the woods in a couple weeks. Have a good one my friend.

Hey there Rollins family, you two make the best cooking duo out there. What a team! Thanks to both of you for producing another great video production. If I knew what the future held for the wife and I, I'd sure invest in the time and materials involved to make one of these outdoors wood burning cooking appliances but, at our age and physical condition, we're not sure of a lot of things anymore. Still, we both enjoy watching other folks working side by side, especially outside, cooking and sharing their experiences and knowledge with others. May the good Lord continue to Bless the Rollins household. Stan

Great job Mrs Shannon, love the videos.
I appreciate the efforts you and Shannon make to bring these videos to us all Kent. I sure do hope it's worth yawls while too! I know I enjoy watching Shannon's videography skills, and your cooking skills even if I'm not cooking or fixing to cook. It's getting an experienced eye view of the way it was and still is on some ranches.... the way my Great Grandfather, and Grandfather did it. Those times were very special... not knowing when the next meal was coming and thinking your back bone was rubbing a blister on your stomach. Food tastes better outdoors anyway... and when you really needed the meal, well... it had to be special to fulfill that need. God Bless you and Shannon and the dogs, life wouldn't be much fun without you guys! See ya next time...
