About Port Hacourt
Port Harcourt is the capital and largest city of Rivers State, Nigeria. It is the fifth-largest city in Nigeria after Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and Benin City. It lies along the Bonny River and is located in the Niger Delta. As of 2016, the Port Harcourt urban area has an estimated population of 1,865,000 inhabitants, up from 1,382,592 as of 2006.
The area that became Port Harcourt in 1912 was before that part of Fishing settlements (fishing ports) also called Borikiri in the Okrika language and the farmlands of the Diobu village group of the Ikwerre ethnicity.[13] The colonial administration of Nigeria created the port to export coal from the collieries of Enugu located 243 kilometres (151 mi) north of Port Harcourt,[14] to which it was linked by a railway called the Eastern Line, also built by the British.

Port harcourt is okay, not as crowded, but the city lacks organization and planning. Outside of GRA and Trans Amadi, you can tell the city just grew all over the place during the oil boom.

@@tralbriggs104 my brother, have you your people come together as a body and tried doing it and was stopped? I am from Anambra, our people build roads, schools and even hospitals for those of us in the villages. I know that somethings can be too capital intensive for co-operative approach like we do in the South East but I believe that if your people are to have a strategic approach to Development in your area, you will definitely transform your area for good in about a decade or two. Hope I made some sense, Bro?

To be honest with you I will get lost if I drive to Diobu and other places I use to know before. I drove into the Town last 1985 and 86. 2016 was the last time I visited the town in the night after my flight and every single thing changed rapidly, if I see Obasiolu now it will be completely transformed. Keep up the good work.

Lagos bus stop doesn’t have a market. The nearest market maybe the railway station mini market or the Creek Road market. Where that building is was Trade Fair Ground so you maybe confusing Trade Fair as a market since it was all about commerce.
