So I'm looking to buy a VVDI program tool. The ones I've seen will do different makes & models so what should I be looking for as far as having the Porsche software in it? Also I have a new key never been programmed, will that change the way this needs to be done?

Could you guide me as to how I may reprogram the remote of my 1999 996? The remote lock has stopped functioning, but remote light blinks fast if you press the button.

do you know for sure coding was erased? If coding is still on the module and the data is not corrupt, then Yes, we can program a key to it. We'd have to get the BCM on the bench to see if readable.

what about programming the smart key after renewal is done? what is the use of renewal if you can't copy the existing remote?

The use of renewing is so you can program an OEM key to you vehicle instead of an Aftermarket key. If you want to see that process, watch my other Porsche programming videos

which city are you located? and what is the FCC# printed on the fob? Also, do you have push to start ignition or does the fob have to be placed in the slot?

I had a quick question. I’m looking to buy a replacement Porsche key, but it’s the newer version. There are both iyz-pk1 and iyz-pk3 for the fcc id’s. Both are 433 mhz and both look the same. Are these interchangeable? Only reason I’m asking is because the seller doesn’t know, and has listed one cheaper than the other.

Which vehicle-year/model? Based on the vehicle BCM, it shouldn't matter. My question is, how do you plan an relashing the key and Programming it?

It is for a 2021 Porsche Panamera. One of the keys for sale is p/n iyz-pk1 with a # of 971.959.753H and the other has a p/n of iyz-pk3 with a # of 971.959.753.AE. Both 433 mhz. The keys are brand new so I do not need to reflash, but I was looking around for locksmiths to program. But are these keys interchangeable? B/c one is more expensive, but like I said the seller has no idea

@@bryanninan1748 I don't program those systems (over year 2018), but I would imagine is should be the same, just like any other VAG (VW) systems - where it's multiple part numbers for same key.. the only difference between the keys.. is if its Keyless Go capable, or if it needs to be placed in the ignition. I couldn't tell you definitively, because I don't program the newer keys. That said, not too many people out there will program that key outside of the dealer, so I'd call around first.

Okay yeah, I knew vw used diff part numbers for the same key, I didn’t realize that even the fcc id could be different. Thanks for the info. And yeah all those part numbers were for keyless go. And yeah I’m calling around for sure.

Key cannot be cloned, the new or used key must be programmed to the car. The BCM needs to be removed from vehicle to program a new key

Yes, we would be able to program the used or new key to your vehicle, however, we would need to BCM in order to program it. You can get an idea of the process by viewing some of our other video that show the programming procedure.

Michael Willman yes, I can "unlock" the fob..as for matching it to your car, the car would have to be present or I would need the BCM..in order to do that.. which city are you in? Also, when you say the fob doesn't work..is it a remote tgat worked with the vehicle previously..or is it a used remote from another vehicke?

@@michaelwillman7910 okay - you bought a used one online, yes, I can unlock the remote - this service is $15.The BCM can be found under the steering wheel when you unscrew the 3 or 4 screws holding kick panel above your knee... normally located on the right hand side - its like a 5" x 6" black box. I'm sure there is a video on here somewhere - you can search remove or replace Porsche BCM and it will give you an idea

Which year Panamera do you have - newer than 2019? Software to flash the newer key you're referring too is not out yet.

@@ammreid Thanks for the quick reply. Okay yeah its 2021 but no worries my wife still has 2 keys it was just in case. A follow up question though. I purchased an unprogrammed porsche key for my 2018 cayman s. I wanted to test if it was the right frequency/ p/n 315 mhz and kr55wk50138 so I stuck it in the ignition slot and turned to accessory but no lights on the dash came on. Does this mean I bought the wrong key, or is this how porsche's work. I figured it was like the old keys where the accessory lights would turn on but not start the vehicle b/c the chip wasn't programmed. Also I am located in Florida, where is your store in ATL so I could drive up for programming? Thanks in advance

@@johnbryant2457 some systems are on a higher frequency, yours is probably 315mhz. If you pull out your emergency metal key on your original key fob, under the part numbers, the frequency should be stamped at the bottom left corner. Porsche has the electronic ignition that gives that sound like its grabbing the key when it recognizes the chip, so without a programmed key, your correct, it will Not do anything including lighting the dash. We're out of Alpharetta, GA, however, we only programmed keys to the BCM module if removed by the customer. We no longer remove vehicle modules, the labor makes the job expensive, and at the end, they may have just gone to the dealer to order a pre-programmed key from the factory - takes few days. Most of the Porsche jobs are from individuals that don't have a choice, because maybe they lost all their keys, or handle and pull the BCM themselves or get their mechanic to do it, we no longer risk breaking a clip or trim piece because some are not that easy to get to. If you purchased a used key, we would be able to reflash it, so that it can be programmed to your vehicle.

Not needed for this key, but is needed for other types of keys when reflashing. It's kept on the line to use when needed.
