Porsche Cayenne 958 Diesel Water Pump Replacement
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
On today's video, we're replacing the water pump on our 2015 Porsche Cayenne 958 Diesel. It's got almost 110k miles and I noticed a little coolant leak. We picked up a complete water pump kit from Pelican Parts and it included a new water pump & gasket, bolts, belt, as well as coolant.

Great job as usual Sean. You always make it look so simple. 😊
Very easy job for a modern vehicle. Those plastic impellers are troublesome on certain models. VW 1.8 Turbos used to suffer impeller failures all the time. Changed many of those over the years... Looking forward to more Corvair content. My '66 is heading to its first show this weekend!
@autoanatomy Sean, I just found your channel for the first time. Yesterday, the transporter arrived and my "new" 2015 Cayenne Diesel rolled off! I understand you focus on classics, but he's one person saying a few CD videos would also be appreciated! I've not heard of "vacuuming down the coolant". I need to learn about that. The coolant in mine looks nasty. The level was also low. At a minimum I want to flush and change coolant. Plus other maintenance like oil/filter, fuel filter, etc since I don't have records. Love the car!

Thanks for the kind words, and enjoy your 958! I've been grateful that mine hasn't needed much other than front brakes and a water pump, but as things pop up I'll be sure to video them.
Hi Sean. Sorry I was not online in time... 🙄 Really good job, the waterpump is always best as a new with metal impeller for long term use. On Audi V8 machines you can get both on aftermarkets suppliers, plastic and metal, the plastic ones are often lose after short time use about 10.000 km.... So I've always decided to get a metal impeller on every pump on any car. Have a nice time and thanks for your video 📹! 👍 🙋🏼♂️

@@AutoAnatomy Thanks Sean, I'm alright... 😉 ✌️ 🙋🏼♂️
The main difference in the two impellers were ! The factory used a ( closed impeller wheel ) The after market was an Open impeller wheel. Each have there good and bad but metal any day over plastic .

I tend to agree, but the plastic one did make it to >100k miles! Regardless, it’s done and it was very easy to replace. Good on ya Porsche for amazing engineering.

@@AutoAnatomy Better to say the plastic did not fail in 110k miles. The bearing did. Still... when the pump bearing failed on my E39 2.8 I certainly replaced it with a metal impeller version. I wonder which one flows the best?
