@johnsullivan67611 жыл бұрын
as other have said he doesn't have to for either but clutching your down shifts allows him to heel/toe which in turn allows him to match the wheel and engine speeds with allows him to avoid shift lock under braking with allows him to maintain control which allows him to not crash, also you dont have to use a clutch even on a synchro box just minding the throttle

@1995MattyD Having said that, I can't hear anything like what I used to hear in F1 when they had traction control. What impresses me most about this video, after having the telemetry and being able to see his footwork, is Akira Mizutani's driving. He is very smooth, consistent, and patient. I think it's his car control and footwork that are the biggest factors in controlling wheelspin.

I actually race cars. I'm just saying that he is not using 'tiptronik' it is simply a sequential racing transmission. The reason he doesn't have to use the clutch on up shift is because the ECU is programmed to cut the ignition when he shifts, but while downshifting you have to clutch and heel and toe.

The reason you don't need the clutch is because the transmission has dog engagement. The point of the ECU cut is so that you don't need to lift the throttle during an up-shift. Without the ECU cut, you just need to slightly lift the throttle whist pulling the gear lever. And its got nothing to do with a sequential shift pattern, all this can be done with a H pattern dog box too, but that's pretty old skool nowadays.

More or less. But keep in mind, you don't have to use a clutch when downshifting a motorcycle either. All sequential gearboxes want is to be un-loaded before they are shifted. This usually requires a quick rolling off of the throttle when accelerating or a quick rolling on of the throttle when decelerating. Using either technique (when appropriate) will allow for a clutchless shift.

Проходит экзамен на маршутчика?
Miss these 3 pedal setups - modern two pedal autoblip/autoclutch setups are such garbage in comparison. Interesting he doesn't prime pads on the longer straights.
yes, I think you can give him a lesson, from your computer desk ... why do you think mizutani is in the porsche and you at home hm ?? maybe because you already know everything about driving

His heel n toe skill is great but his racing line of choose is not really good, that's the reason he didn't get close to front car
Check my video out I have the exact same shifter for sim racing
이정도 해야 힐앤토지 내가 햇던건 뭔가?
It doesn't work ob pick up truck, trust me I tried it. Hahaha
He's trailbraking
timcomeau He may be in the seat because he has money, but he's in the top 5 because he can drive. And frankly, left foot braking isn't that fantastic except for in karts where you have to, otherwise I find its almost useless.

Nial Irwin left foot braking is mostly useful in cars with paddle shifting or sequential gearbox,it reduce the time needed for the driver to reach the brake pedal,it is mostly found in F1 or other Formula series

dont forget about rally, left foot braking plays a big role in there
What about do you write? Heel and toe is terrible. His braking modulation is suffer. When he downshifting he is releasing brakes. It is not good example for learning.
