Heel & Toe Shifting Technique and Rev Matching Tutorial | YS Khong Driving

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here it is, folks - the mystery of heel & toe explained, and also a tutorial on how to easily master this technique. You can pause and rewind on any sections as necessary, and also enjoy the Renault Megane RS 280 Cup while you are at it.
Note: This video was recorded before the MCO. The cough I have is an ordinary cough from a sore throat, and I am better now, thank you.

    Thanks YS. A professional definitely makes it looks easy, us amateurs will need LOTS of practice. Excellent advise about not resting left foot on clutch pedal and more importantly, the consequences of doing so. After all, most modern cars have a left foot rest anyway. Learnt a lot from this video and looking forward to your next lesson. Thumbs up!

  • @DavidGreening
    @DavidGreening Жыл бұрын

    You are the first professional driver I have seen on here teaching the right method. All of the others teach you to rev while your foot is still on the clutch after selecting the next gear. That will make for smoother shifts but does nothing to help select the next gear or protect the syncro's. Your way does both and makes for smoother shifts. Thank you. Now I just have to get my size 14 feet to cooperate and I'll be fine.

    i didnt move straight to braking and blipping. I started with just blipping first, just to know how much (throttle) is enough and the timing to release the clutch. I practice it while on straights, ie. drop gear from 4 to 3 to overtake. Started with the basics, from same-slot/gate (4 to 3), then only cross gate from 3-2 (like in 3:27). Once I know the throttle and clutch timings, and executed it smoothly, then only added the braking element.
