Porsche 991 Turbo S vs Ferrari 488 Pista

During the Race1000 in Germany I have filmed a Porsche 991 Turbo S racing against a Ferrari 488 Pista on the 1/2 Mile! Also it racing against a Audi R8 V10 Plus by LCE Performance, Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS and a 630HP Volkswagen Golf 3 VR6 Turbo. I hope you enjoy the video.

The porsche on the right is exactly like those idiots at the red light when the light turns green And They are still at stand still for another 5 second!

Porsche weighing 1600 kg loses to a Ferrari weighing 1200 kg. That Porsche started earlier. The driver has nothing to do with it, a 1600 kg Ferrari would humiliate that Porsche. It is no coincidence that the Ferrari brand is the best supercar brand in the world, it is not only a matter of beauty but also of engineering
A half mile is all well and good, and it grows boring after about 10 passes, take these beauties on the track, into all sorts of tricky curves, they were designed for this and they are at their best there. Plus it's infinitly more fun =)

Marco Panzanni I was invited to the Porsche club annual bar-b-q, race at Meadow brook raceway 20 years ago. They raced from dusk til dawn. There was one Ferrari and it was a gas to watch all the Porsches pass the Ferrari in the turns and then get blown away on the straightaway!

Why did Ferrari have to make the 488 TT??? Loved the body ahape. When you think Ferrari (or Porsche 911) you think of the non-TT versions...THOSE are the versions worth owning/driving...If i could afford it I would buy a 458 in mint condition over any new 488 or F8. Or the 812 Supermast V12--still NA...and the only NA Ferrari still made today...WHY? Lamborghini's are all still NA..

The MAIN reason I read they went Twin Turbo, is because they really wanted to bring down the cubic Inches in their motor sizes, and to keep up the power levels, they put the TT in..

And this is not the 992 Turbo S. The 992 would beat that Ferrari. 2.5 0-60 and 10.1 in quarter . Although the Ferrari is such an awesome looking car. Just get both.

Ed hoffmann the 992 Turbo S has more power than the 991, but still less power than the Pista and it is heavier. So, I don’t see it winning a1/2 mile race. Only the 0-60 because it is a 4x4

Just for reference a Bugatti veyron does the 1km in 18sec@300kph(186mph) these cars averaged 15-17sec@250 to 275kph meaning they would beat a veyron or barely loose at the top end...
