Porsche 986 Boxster NO Start- Replacing the Auto shift linkage / Push Rod

Our 1986 Porsche 986 Boxster 2.5L refused to start after placing it in park and turning the engine off. To our surprise the Automatic transmission shift linkage / Push Rod failed triggering the neutral safety switch and immobilizing the car. After a R&R, we were back on the road.
