For all the critics, bear in mind this is an effort with the slightest time and budget, performed on a car too far gone and in the wrong spec, in a market not suitable for making a profit to begin with.

I really enjoy your videos, but as some say you should have left the paint untouched (if you would have keept it it might would have worked, but some buyers may prefere original paint or paint it professional) I am thinking of restorating the 924 from my father... its sitting in a field since 10 years. Paint is even worse (so i dont mind tying to paint myself). We already have spear parts (even a spare engine) Here in germany the 924 ar already quite "expensive" good ones are around 7k€ Anyhow really like the cars you are chooising

I drove one. It felt like sitting on the asphalt and feeling even the road stripes in the ass. The paintjob was a bad decision. Better to leave it as it was, it will be a nightmare to get off to do a proper job of it. The colour difference between the outside and the inner door panels are just 😢...I probably would have put a manual gearbox in it instead, which would have made the car more desireable... But even these cars have started to go up in price...

Two smooth-talking shysters at work like a cheap brilliantined double act rusted onto a travelling circus. What a disgrace. The 924 continues to be maligned and shunned by the ignorant and sniffy purists like these two, but it's a good car. It was well built and a bargain entry level classic. What they did to tart this one up, all the while smiling, posing, keeping the lingo too-clean and cutting corners like a par of chop-shop balladeers is a travesty and undermines good restoration programmes as well as owners of the model. I own both a standard 1977 924 & a 1978 Turbo and they sit next to a 3.4 Cayman in my garage. Both variants have earned their place as great drivers cars. Both my children learned to drive in a standard version and love the shape. I get more comments when I park the standard car up at a car park than I ever get with the Cayman. Yes, the standard version isn't bestowed with breakneck power, but it handles very well for a 47 year old car. Jay Leno, Jason Cammisa and many others have all commented on the joy of being able to control and drive a smaller engined light car to the max over driving an excessively powered high-performance car, which to frank, very few of us could control in every day driving nor keep a clean licence. The classic car market is crazy and anyone who is trying to buy a good early-is 911 will attest to the stratospheric and ridiculous prices they have to pay, for instance to buy a half-decent 911SC, and they've got less power than a Mk 6 Golf GTI. The older ones even less. The 924 will one day be seen as a worthy, accessible and enjoyable car, which can be driven every day, unlike a 911, which are fast becoming cosseted and near extinct as a daily due to their value and cost to repair. I see these two crooks are about to do an MX 5 in the next programme. I shudder to think of the results, but know for sure they'll smirk and smile and their dialogue will be laden with the same guff as this one. You tube, surely its time to sift this kind of dross from your line-up...please

  • @anthonyxuereb792

You have to commend these two for putting some dignity back into these forlorn cars which is the opposite to Top Gear who do their darndest to degrade classic cars for the sake of "entertainment" which in the end I quit watching.
