Why is this even a contest? The Morgan is the car to have. It has charisma, character, style and of course it is a true sports car. This is hand built modern day masterpiece, whereas the 911 is a mass produced car born some souless factory in Euro-land. It's a bit like trying to choose between a freshly prepared culinary delight hand cooked by master chef or a TV dinner from the up market Waitrose picked off the shelf from twenty others all the same. The 911 may be faster on the track, but is it a better sports car? Absolutely not.

It would have had even more "character" if you had driven one with a manual gearbox. An automatic in this car is ridiculous.

Who buys a Plus 8 to trash it around the track, really. And automatic on top...

When the Morgan takes a corner and the chassis flexes, I wonder if you hear wood splintering...

Silly comparison. Two great cars. The Porsche is in every way a better drivers car. The Morgan is the opposite of just about every car made today. With a manual transmission it is a proper modern classic with looks beyond compare and a driving experience that is a throwback to days of old that has gobs of character. Both fine automobiles in two different classes

You can be an ass-hat and drive a 911 or have people smiling at you in a beautiful blast from the past. I chose the +8 ;) Literally, its in my garage. Loving it every day. The smiles, the conversations. People dont ask you about your fucking 911. People do ask you about your Morgan. A Morgan is an addition to your life. Its a social car. It attracts attention in a good way.

No need to be a reductionist. I have both, and they are stunning in their respective context. You seem to be ranting and bashing about a Mansory tweaked out Aventador. No other car can match the 911's heritage in racing throughout the years and that alone deserves respect from any worthy car enthusiast regardless of it being your cup of tea or not.

Love the fact that the design for these two cars hasn't changed for decades :) perfect comparison really!

This is a totally unfair and ridiculous comparison!!!! These cars could not be more different, and the design concept and thinking behind each car is TOTALLY different. The Plus 8 was never designed to be a track car. It is a gentleman's car to be driven quickly and briskly on a winding country back road just for the pure love of it. You have to really manhandle a +8 there is nothing refined about the suspension or steering, very old school.Which is just what appeals to people who love Morgans, that pure old school raw driving experience. The Porsche on the other hand is a Autobahn cruiser. A modern sophisticated street/track car with very sophisticated and cutting edge suspension steering and braking. I am a hugh fan of both these cars they are both superstars in their niche. I don't know what dipshit came up with the idea of this comparison but it is totally laughable.!!!!!!!

I don't know if it's the camera angle, but it seems the guy is sitting way too close to the steering wheel in every video.

Pointless review! I mean, who spends all their time driving round a racetrack? The Morgan has bags of character and as much as the Porsche is a great car they are now ten a penny and getting vaguely dull. As a proper sport car the Morgan wins hands down!

Yea, anything else that the beetle, especially something with that size bonnet, just compare the sizes between front wheels and doors or windshield. Longer is better

I'd pick the Posshe to race but the Morgan for casual driving.

I kind of think I would rather have the Morgan.

I have drive both Plus 8 and the 3.7. Both are very good, but the V6 is much better. When I drive a Morgan I am not trying to break 0-100km records or whatever. So V6 all the way.

Golf GTI might be quicker than the Morgan :) That thing is all about bringing you the essence of 60s.

Buy a "modern" Morgen and you get the common electronic problems. Drivetrain is all modern BMW plastic. I purchased a 1993 Morgan +8 last year. For me the last real Morgan and reliable... so far ;-) Automatic is for paraplegics and whimps.

Really well done video. This reviewer has such a grasp of what's going on with the car, and its dynamics. I wonder if this is a gift or if it can be taught. Would make for many safer drivers.

For what it's worth, the chassis is steel…the only wood is the body subframe which doesn't effect its handling. That being said, this guy has no idea how to drive a Morgan fast. And…I'd rather see that Exige taking on the 911 (or for that matter, a Tesla Roadster!).

impressive... but just look at it. Isn't it one of the ugliest cars you've ever seen? And also it would be rubbish most of the time when the weather isn't nice. And as he said, it's not particularly advanced and not as refined as the 911 so not as good to drive or adaptable. The 911 is ultimately the car that will keep up with the times. The Morgan seems to be a car for those that like tradition rather than something common but really good
