I actually love the styling of 911s more than any other manufacture, they just seem elegant in a really reserved way.

I have no idea why, but, for me, there is something about the GT3 that is so special, that I at times actually crave it more than the 918 hyper-car...

i think 991 gt3 is one of the most successful gt3.... i love this car more than any~~ the noise it make, the engine and the transmission. it is the perfect combination.. and for me, it is an piece of art!!!

Sergio Inzunza I drove it yesterday (no bullshit). OMFG dude ... u just cannot have an idea until you try it...it's 10x more amazing than what Jethero presented in even this supreme video...

They are all good cars, but there is something Porches that makes them such an special sport car, this GT3 is nothing but a beauty in every sense... GT3 all the way.. 470 + HP's out of a 3.8 liter normal aspirated engine is sweet.. :-)

It may not be a fashion accessory in the sense of a 458, McLaren 12C, Audi R8 or the new Lambo Huracan but it's still looks the part.

Closing in on 1 million views now. The very best review of the 991 GT3.

I'm personally not a massive Porsche fan, but this GT3 really caught my attention, that PDK box swaps gears seamlessly. Sounds fantastic too! Great review EVO as usual.

another excellent video from jethro, you always manage to convey the power/speed/excitement of driving a high performance car in a simple way that you almost feel/wish your driving the car yourself without getting lost in any technical mumbo jumbo/one of the best/if not the best testers on evo/keep up the great work my man!

Unless you own or will buy this car or any of its competitors I don't see why people argue so much about it.

No kidding! Cars are like Religion to most people. 99.9% of the losers debating this will never even drive one let alone own one. I think most people put their own sense of self worth in the car they drive (or hope to some day) so attacking the cars they like is a direct attack on them? Pretty shallow.

It is not that difficult to get to drive a Porsche 911. I do not own one but have driven different variation on numerous occasions. The GTR is impressive for price but it is not at the same level as the 911 GT3 it is not even in the game to be honest.

sw1000xg Who gives a f*ck if the GTR is faster. This isn't the drag strip.GTR is a full step below a GT3 RS in every regard. It may be faster with it's awd and launch control but when/if the Nissan Engineers get their 90s swag back and make a manual for the GTR then get back to me. I guarantee you most enthusiast would rather have an R34 over the current GTR which is loads faster in stock form, so does that make the R34 Superior? Why would you compare an awd automatic to a 6speed rwd car? If you wanna compare Nissan and Porsche we can do that compare the 370z with 3.7 liters 350hp Nismo edition again this is Nissan's race spec and compare it to the 3.8 GT3 RS 1st gen which was 435hp or compare it to the 2nd gen 997 Gt3RS which was 3.8 liters 450hp or compare it to the 4.0 GT3 RS which was 500hp. All naturally aspirated!!! Enough said since you're all about straight line speed. If you think the GTR is that awesome I guarantee you that the GTR head to head against it's real competitors Carrera Gt,GT2 RS, or even the 918 Spyder has no chance..CASE CLOSED!

Agreed...I'd take this car over the Mclaren or GTR anyday...For some it's about emotion and the senses, not numbers or facts.

Sounds like an F1 car at high revs.

I almost forgot, some of the best camera-work/cinematography I've seen in a car video in a long time. Don't think people don't notice the wonderful job you guys do, cause I certainly do!

I don't know folks. This may just take the title of the BEST of the BEST of car reviews. Long, detailed, clear, precise and with a reviewer that obviously has a lot of passion. This is a good one. Bravo Evo !!!!

I tried to imagine my own car making that noise, then I couldn't help but also imagine the sound of the tow truck hauling it to the shop for a new engine afterwards.

I don't know why, but I have never liked porsche 911, never driven one (almost got my license), but recently, like over the last 2 weeks, iv almost become obsessed haha, bit confusing, 997 911, 991 911, 4s, 2s.. Gt2, gt3 etc, but I'm enjoying watching every video I can find on them, and damn, I want one :p

Jack Thorpe Each of those cars you named offer different characteristics. GT cars tend to be track like and the GT RS are full on track like. You could pick up a Porsche Cayman for about £10,000 second hand. And they are an amazing light weight Porsche.

Duke V. Carlsen if I can find a reasonable priced 997.2 GT2 RS i would take it. But the new 991 GT2 is about to come out in a couple of years. should I wait for that one and try to get it or just find a prev gen GT2

No! They said it is faster than the pdk but i think they talked about the normal pdk from the carrera. The one in the gt3 Is an optimized version of the standard pdk. Even if it would be faster than the normal pdk the pdk still would be the best gearbox. It is not only about the shifting times.

I guess what they said is true about living in a bubble. I'm pretty sure one is allowed to vote for Obama and like the GTR or GT3. I'd choose the GT3 over a GTR without any hesitation, but to go as far as saying it's related to voting for Obama. You must be one of the idiots that voted for Romney then. Do you like pick up trucks too? (see what I did there? I used your logical way of thinking, it's stupid right?)

I'm am so sick and tired of the GTR's and their fanboys. It's a turd that can go real fast, however it will never be a real sport car. It lacks engineering, heritage, and it's so ugly!

You Obviously know Jack about the GTR. Lacks engineering? The GTR set the benchmark with its engineering from launch in 2007. Ever since, Ferrari, Porsche and Mclaren ect have now all turned to similar if not the same gizmos the GTR was originally slated for. Heritage? The GTR has been around since 1970's and has raced and won world championships all over the world, from Rally to Super GT, LaMans, GT3 and recently Champions in the GT1 Series. Oh Nismo has just moved the goal posts again with the fastest lap of the Ring of a production car also which HAS sent shock waves through the car industry. As for not being a real sports car, i agree. Truth is, its one of the best Supercars and your entire post just goes to show how far from the truth you actually are.

Sick and tired of GT-R fanboys? Yes we all are. Their fanboys are annoying little gits? Yes, possibly the most annoying of them all, even after taking Corvette fanboys into consideration. But let's not go out on a limb and say it lack engineering. That's just downright ignorant.

Ive owned 5 R35 GTR's and im now waiting for my Nismo to arrive in September, so ill give my opinions based on love & experience on the car. We should all give credit where credit is due & being honest, i think the Gtr deserves every bit of credit it receives, not just from Fanboys but from manufactures & journalists world wide even from Evo, Chris Harris in social media through to J Clarkson petrolhead entertainer.

TetraRage No, of course there isn't anything wrong with being a fanboy. But that does not change the fact that your generic GT-R fanboy, is in a word, annoying. On every Porsche, Corvette, Ferrari video, you will find them blatantly ignoring everything good about those cars, and simply stating, the GT-R is king, the GT-R is the best. The GT-R is great, but it has acquired a following of immature pre-teens who pretend like they know anything, and arrogant young adults who think they can beat anything and everything on the road. THAT is the problem with GT-R fanboys. That's not to say fans of other cars don't include such people, but it is especially obvious that GT-R fanboys are largely made-up of such people, which is unfortunate because it gives ALL GT-R fans a bad image.
