Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I'm invited by my local Porsche dealer to test drive the new 718 Boxster to see how it compares with my Cayman of the previous generation.

    Great video - one quick thing...your car has a FLAT 6 motor, not a V 6...

Thank you for pointing out my mistake ref the engine type on the previous model. I've now put a note on the video to correct the error. Thanks for watching.

It's got a real gearbox and I love the sound of the V 4 over the V6 😉

Can’t blame him, the motor on the Cayman V6 is hidden :) Yes the entry and drive key can be removed, but really no need. I prefer M6 trans for the more engaged driving.

i have a 981 and one thing i found annoying is that the odometer and speedo are not illuminated 5:17 unless the lights are on, sometimes it's really hard to see the numbers especially if wearing sunglasses, and they made the same mistake here on the 718

No wonder Porsche Solihull did not remember that on the night of the launch I had a booked a test drive in a 718 Boxster. When I turned up for the test drive as planned 2 weeks later stating that I had booked it for the Por shuh 718 Boxster they denied any knowledge of it. If only I had pronounced Porsche as in the video then probably they would have understood what I meant!

Too bad you did not show the interior properly. There are 50+ youtube videos about the 718 with boring black interior. You are one of the only one that i have seen with the red/black non-full leather combo. But you probably have no idea :)

I've ordered a 718 Cayman with the trim you mention - I'll make a video of it when I get it! :)

God damn flat 4, hate that sound..... even if the 718 is quicker and more efficient, I'd rather keep the old flat6 just for the sound

I can't understand anyone wanting a manual in this day and age.

Having got cars with both, they both have their benefits. I found that the manual box in that Boxster was the best I had ever tried, this being due to its position in the console and its quality. I actually found it more fun that my paddle-shift Cayman. But I'll take either.

Fair enough but I think most of the time I would just drive and let it shift itself. I will just use it as a daily car.I do a lot of country driving so I gather its suited for that. I really don't get all the complaining about the sound. To me it sounds better and I suppose thats because Im over 60. I really don't want to get pulled over when i take it out. I have aMercedes Cabriolet now and its a brilliant car.

When your main car is an automatic your fun car should be a stick. I can only understand buying a Porsche with PDK if it’s your daily driver, if not you are missing a true sports car experience.
