Hi John, I own a flower shop in Florida and love watching your videos of doing hand tied and wrapped bouquets! I have always struggled with getting the wrapped arrangements just right so watching your idea with the water in the cellophane is just blowing my mind!! What type of wrapping paper do you buy for the colored paper? I would love to know what material to ask my wholesaler for because I currently use waxed tissue sheets but they don't appear as pretty and don't handle water as well.

I have just seen your message - sorry 😞 but you can use any cellophane that will hold water - so thicker ones are better as they are more secure. You must have a great range of flowers in Florida - I’m jealous 🌼🙋🏼♂️
Love it

Susan Mitchell I can totally understand what you mean - sometimes shop work is repetitive and a bit uninspiring. I started doing demonstrations and then these videos and it has really inspired me to come up with new ideas. And it’s been great sharing ideas and getting feedback.

Flower Joos I know but I loved your videos the way you talk and I have learned so much 💖
💝
hi any suggestions if i wanted to ship these in a box in a vase?
I have question about the amount of flowers used in the bouquet, so with all bouquets is it only three for each focal flower and three for each filler flower ? And what about fiolage and greenery is there a certain about you need or is that unlimited.
@FlowerJoos
5 жыл бұрын
Nada Ghazawy one focal flower in the centre works well, then using others in threes sits very well, so three placed apart. This just gives a good framework for the main flowers then other filler ones can fit inbetween. For foliage it depends how much you like, but you can less or more to suit.
Who else is here on brake time from work 😂🥰💐💖
Love your tutorials. Just wanted to know where do you order your wrapping sheet for the hand tied bouquet?
@FlowerJoos
5 жыл бұрын
Saleema Jassim the cellophane comes on rolls which I had cut the sheets from. I think you can buy pre-sized sheets, but the rolls are easier to access and then you can cut to any length you like. You would be able to get whole rolls from any wholesaler, or maybe direct online.
Hi,I love watching your videos and I am currently studying floristry online, any tips on doing a beginners hand tied bouquet, many thanks, Ally
Have you made any videos talking about pricing?
or rather if i ship in a bag like this. could u show a video how to pack in a box so it won't shift and damage flowers?
@FlowerJoos
7 жыл бұрын
#Luxury State Of Mind it is possible to ship these boxed - you can buy boxes for this purpose. The hand tied is packed using gel instead of water and placed into a castle box which then is held in a base tray in the flower postal boxes. They work well - and give a consistent packing if you are going this regularly. Hope that helps!

Flower Joos thanks for your prompt reply. ill research it and look into these castle boxes. thank you kindly
I am in a zone 5 in Canada. Any chance you could show a piece with local flowers and greenery from a chillier climate? I am a grower and would love to use our local flowers to do design work. I find the greenery one of the more difficult things. This year I used monarda leaves which were beautiful but not nearly as hardy as the salal. Sweet Annie and atriplex being other greens. Also big leaves I am struggling with. Tried echinacea leaves this year. Worked quite well. Thanks for the great videos. Do you happen to online courses??
@FlowerJoos
5 жыл бұрын
Jeanine Powell hello - that’s interesting as we have a bit of a drive for local flowers going on here, but I am not sure what zone we are in so not an expert on flowers grown in different zones. I will have a think though. For consistency and range we buy from Holland - then you can get anything! At present we don’t offer an online course, but with the back videos we have produced there is a great range to watch again and again. All the best to Canada - hoping to visit in a couple of years 😀
Another beautiful design. Could you give a breakdown of cost for this type of piece? Thanks!
@FlowerJoos
5 жыл бұрын
Jeanine Powell hello - that is difficult to do accurately as everywhere is different. Most handtied designs start at at least £25 and upwards. Different ways to cost will depend on wholesale costs, the time of year, the local competition and how you want to charge for labour and wrapping. I would cost flower up by 3 - so a flower at 50p would sell at £1.50. For labour you could charge £14 per hour - so 15 minutes would be costed at £3.50.for the bag, wrap ribbon then you need to take a set cost - say £3 - but costing is up to you ultimately. I don’t like creating handtied design for £25 - it’s just not got enough content, or nice content.
Where can I get the greenery from?
What is that clear, flat floral wire you mentioned so it doesn't cut into your stems? I have tried to find it but can't. Thanks.
