I did feel the same way for many you listed as not wanting to give into the hype or the booktok hype however I really enjoyed reading a copy of a friend’s Fourth Wing this past month, the Housemaid and Where Did the Crawldads Sing. Give it a try to see it changes your mind.

I agree with every single book on that list except for fourth wing which I already read and disliked 😭

We were batting 100% until you got to the last book. I read it but only gave it three stars. Most of the books I read now are four stars+ or they are a DNF. So I’m thinking that our tastes are similar. No grief from me! BTW your hair cut is so cute. Why do you keep flipping it back over your shoulders? Maybe it’s a nervous habit and I’m old enough to be your grandma so far be it from me to be critical. I just love it when it’s toward your face!❤

I'm not into gaming as well but I loved Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. Of course videogames are important to the plot but it's about so much more. However I can understand why someone would not be interested

Surprisingly i have similar feelings about many books in the list. I decided not to pick up Legend and latte,it starts with us, Fourth wing. I read Crawdads because i trusted the hype when it came out. Didn't like it at all. Yeah movie was better, esp. in the beginning.

I completely agree with you except for 2 (fourth wing and the housemaid). You were one of the first who wasn´t disrespectful in delivering your opinion/review, the genre of Fourth Wings and the writing style for The Housemaid aren´t for you...legit! Everyone has preferences. I had great expectations for "Encyclopedia of Fairies" and at the end, I was so bored I couldn´t finish it. This is why we shouldn´t blindly buy books just because are "tiktok popular" love from Germany

Thank you for saying that, I really was hoping I wasn't being disrespectful towards people who enjoy the books! But you're exactly right, everyone has their own preferences!

I read The Housemaid and really liked it, then read another of hers that was probably my worst book of the whole year. Then I read the other book that is comparable to the Housemaid. To be fair, I enjoyed it less than Frieda's but it was the exact same book. And I'm not talking just plot. Exact same scenes were happening. A lot. I am done with McFadden, I found it so off putting that she had written a book that was so incredibly similar down to some pretty small details that I just cannot support her.
