'Popo': The changing faces of Crooked KW Services' 1955 needlenose classic

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Harmony, Pennsylvania-based Damian Minteer opened his own custom truck and antique restoration shop, Crooked KW Services, about three years ago. This impressive '55 Kenworth, however, is a truck he's owned for more than a quarter of a century.
Being just the second owner of a truck that's nearing its 70th birthday is a rare occurrence, but that's just what Minteer is. After driving by the truck sitting in a field and pestering the original owner for about a year and a half, the would-be buyer finally convinced him to sell it for $1,000.
It was in bad shape. The original 190 Cummins engine was locked up, among a bevy of other issues, so he extended the hood to put a B-model Cat in it and much more. All told, Minteer totally rebuilt the truck from the ground-up, and would continue to modify the rig throughout his ownership.

Old Skool kool. Money doesn’t buy style and taste. Superb example of a quality restoration.

It’s not a 55 KW. I’d call it a truck kit. Just made to look like a 55 KW.
