My question also... Am I missing something here? I do not agree with him on ALOT of issues. It sounds like to me the post was pointing to his inclusiveness of LGBT and SSmarriage and include his other socialistic ideologies. Not sure about his Comment on the Cross being a failure. Did hear the whole sermon so I cannot say if this was taken out of context or what. I do know he has a great dislike for American Conservatives and If he had his way, we would all be excommunicated the way he did Retired Archbishop Vigano. It is one thing to defrock or take away a Priests faculty because he does agree with the Holy Se... but to excommunicate simply because he holds to the old traditions is inexcusable and Bullying!

JESUS died on the cross for our sins period.

So, do we now follow all the 613 commands in the Torah to the letter? The animal sacrifice laws, the clothing laws? All the Bronze Age customs about how to treat children. I was taught When Jesus died on the cross, He put an end to the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15). I am so tired of people cherry picking from the Old Testament things 22:23 they happen to personally agree with and use them to scourge others.

The Catholic Church has always been exclusive rather than the encompassing love of Christ. It is about time the Catholic Church woke up. The Church has always been the last to see the truth, like the earth is round, not flat. Far too many people have been murdered by the old Catholic Church's teachings. I guess that is ok for the traditionalists. It is not God's way. If that were God's way, we would all be wiped away from this earth. The holier-than-thou attitude is alienating. Finally! a Pope, who is attempting to make the Church right with God. God, is a God of love. We say God is love, but our human selfishness gets interjected and then we add to that statement that God hates. How slow to learn we are. It's as if God's existence depends on only the things we love and hate. How foolish we truly are.

One has to remember that the Bible was written by men and women. Sometimes years or decades after the fact. Meaning can sometimes be lost in translation from one language to another. Read the Bible and pray for understanding. When god talks to you, you will know it, without any doubt.

I'm a self-reliant, I truly love Pope Francis. We have the same values. Why hold to the words of a book that has been subject to that much editing at the whims of multiple publishers? Jesus said love one another, he didn't mean only love the ones that fallow the writing of goat herders. BTW, if it matters at all, I was asked to assume the role of the Messiah due to my gender, coloring, and psychic abilities by one of the members of the family of Christ. I turned it down, but would gladly hand the position to Pope Francis, he has the right ideas.

Pope Francis is definitely misled. We need really to pray for him for enlightenment. Aiming to update the church's stance making it more relevant and engaging to modern society amounts to conforming to the world not to the Lord. If we know that a person is doing wrong and we do not rebuke that person, the Scripture says, if that person dies without us rebuking his wrongdoings, we are answerable for his life. The Bible is clear that God is against homosexuality. Telling these people that in engaging homosexual acts they sinned against God is not judging them but helping them to be reminded that they are risking themselves to God's wrath which what happened to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. According to Pope Francis "Who am I to judge?", but as Pope, he is the present principal shepherd. He must shepherd his flock. With many Bible passages expressly and impliedly declaring homosexuality is despised by God, what does he think shall be God's judgment to these people? As principal shepherd, yes, it is not for him to judge, but he should guide his flock, he should give his opinion, his stand on these homosexual acts based on the Scripture. Among those who could not enter the kingdom of God, the Scripture says, "those engaged in homosexuality". Should priests therefore give blessings to acts sinful before God's eyes? In blessing them, we are encouraging them, they are like being pushed to hell instead of being pulled from going to hell. According to Pope Francis, "Who am I to judge?" As the main shepherd, and based on the Scripture, the Pope should ask himself also this question: What should be God's judgment for all these sinful acts? Come Holy Spirit. In the Lord Jesus Christ's mightiest name and the intercession of Mama Mary and all the angels and saints in heaven, Heavenly Father have mercy on us all your children.

He and a lot in the Vatican need our prayers for true conversion of hearts. I do not agree with a lot of his ways, so I pray for him and them. I also pray for those Pastors who need conversion and continue to teach that the Church needs to change. No One can change what God laid down in His Word. We need to pray for those who leave out the real Gospel and teach the Prosperity Gospel. People need to hear the Gospel of Christ.

I believe Pope Francis understands Jesus better than most theologians. Jesus spoke of Gods love and forgiveness. Jesus spoke out against the laws of the temples and the corruption, driving out the money changers. Look at the life Jesus led, he accepted everyone, showed mercy, understanding, was open to all. Jesus, while divine was also human. Jesus was God in human form, allowing Him to better understand the beings he created. God gave us brains, emotions, the ability to lead our own paths in the world. Listen to the teachings of Jesus, what He says. And at no time did Jesus speak of homosexuality, no pro or con.

Paul did and he was instructed by Jesus. Read Acts...Luke goes into more detail of Paul's conversion; also read the first 3 or so chapters of Paul's letter to the Romans. If these letters were written under the influence of the Holy Spirit, then it was God who dictated; unless you are of the belief that the Holy Spirit is not on the same level as God the Father and Jesus. Jesus may not have spoken directly about homosexuality but God's Word Does. You need to have the initiative to really read All of God's Word and believe it, OT and NT! They go hand in hand.
