We now have a 'Pop up Gaeltacht' at The Boat Inn, Jackfield, Telford, Shropshire. I am on the Future Learn Irish courses.. Fáilte ar Line.. another student lives in Birmingham, we had met twice before we heard of the Pop Ups. There are now 5 of us in the group.. 1 Irish speaker, 1 lady who learned Irish as a child, 2 of us from the courses, and a friend who is listening in. We aim to meet once a fortnight to chat in Irish. There is an Irish music session on each Thursday, so its a little bit of Ireland. Felicity Burke

I would love to be in a pub that suddenly swapped to Gaeltacht. I wouldn't understand a thing but it would be magical.

Thank you for preserving the language. I tried, here in America. The language cds have 10 spanish and one Irish, and the speakers had two different accents that didn't help. Think American South and American Northeast, like New England . Mostly teaching you how to say I don't understand Irish. Grrr. Help. Please. Would really help if those of us who wanted, could.

So refreshing to hear about positive and inclusive initiatives, like this, in the extended Gaeltachd /Gaeltacht. Suas leis a Ghàidhlig/Gaelge
