I never really realized until right now that the entire movie is an allegory to life itself. How you can fail even though you tried your best. Yet, instead of letting it get to you, turn it into a learning experience. Going back to what you're actually good at and all the wiser, having experienced failure and making you better than you were before.

This is such an inspirational song

Listened to this as a kid growing up. Now as an adult it just hits on a whole new level with a completely different meaning. What a great song!

My favorite part of this is just the _range_ of his voice. He goes from this pleasant, poetic, delicately accentuated, dusty voice with a relatively mellow tone, but intersperses it with a booming, piercing voice that crackles and rings like thunder. It's really amazing.

Okay, I came here from a playlist marked “evil/villain songs” and... what the hell? Jack isn’t a villain. He’s a monster, a skeleton, the Pumpkin King, but he’s not doing it to be antagonistic. All those years, he was just playing the role that he was supposed to be in... Except, until he wanted more. He just wanted something to bring him the joy that he thought that he’d lost, something that many people have been a victim of... So, as “scary and villainous and bad” the monsters of Halloween are, they’re not supposed to be evil nor do they have ill-intentions. They just want to bring their own version of joy and happiness with the rest of the world, though others aren’t as inclined to understand what they love about it all. And as for Jack... Can we really call HIM a monster or a bad guy or a villain when he, perhaps, is more human than all of us? If so, why must it be such a crime to simply want to do something great, something he put passion into, something that he wanted to bring JOY to everyone... Poor Jack.
