Pool construction ICF step by step (instructional)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here is a short step by step video of how I built my own pool using ICF (insulated concrete forms) this is just a quick overview of how I built it. To be honest it was easy and very rewarding.

    Thank you for the clear explanation and demo. Did you look at the Nudura One Series product that is "ideal for pools and anywhere only one side of the foam is needed (according to their website)". Is it better to have insulation on both sides instead of one side? What are you using to cover the pool? I am planning to build an indoor ICF pool and wondering what would be ideal cover for it, to keep the dirt and moisture out of the pool as much as i can.

    Thank you so much for making and sharing this! About to start my build in Ontario. The fox block engineered drawings I have are calling for a whopping 14” x 66” footing for my clay soil and 8’ deep end. Do you think that’s really necessary?!

    Just finished our icf pool walls. Question- how is the sand floor? We were thinking of putting sand down and then a gorilla pad (like the one they use in above ground pools). Do you think that would work? We were also thinking concrete but wasn’t sure what f the sand moved around too much. Thanks! Great videos

  • @Vienneau

    @Vienneau

    Жыл бұрын

    You wont have issues with sand and a gorilla pad if you have a well draining soil. having said that....that is basickly what I did. If i was to do it again I would probably put sand then 2inch foam insulation tapping every seem twice then a gorilla pad over top. good luck.

    If you are constructing in IFC I would make sure you have the right size reinforcing steel and the right amount. I never went thought the exercise so I cant tell you what you would need. On a side note I wanted to build a hot tub that way but never got to it.

    Hello fellow NB’er! I’m in SJ. Thanks very much for this information! I am looking to build a similar pool this spring. Did you need to be certified to buy or install ICF? Where is a good place to buy it in NB? Atlas Structural Systems is the only place I’ve ever seen ICF. Thanks!

    I asked this question on another one of your videos then I had a part 2 so sorry for the duplicate questions here. I'm in the process of building an ICF pool with Nudera right now in NS. Loved the coping idea going to use it. 2 questions. 1. For the return jets did you simply pour with a 1/ 1/2 PVC pipe through the forms & attach the heads after? 2. I noticed you maintained square corners with your coping, was that an issue with the liner as I know they want curved corners typically.

  • @Vienneau

    @Vienneau

    Жыл бұрын

    For the returns I used sacrificial pieces of PVC. I had no issues with the 90 degree corner. you have to play a little with the liner in the corners to fit properly but once good I never touched it again...Good luck with your project.
