Great video! Also glad you mentioned the difference between polymeter and polyrhythm. Lots of people still think they're the same.

Nerdseq as polyrhythm engine as you show it, is so cool. Thanks.

great video. nice idea taking 1027 seq gate 1 our as a 1050 misseq Ext Adv. Then after 2 full 8 step sequences, the Gate 5 out is routed (1050 Mix B out) to the reset on the 1027 seq. This gets your 20 steps ( 8 + 8 + 4 ).

Great video! Was there any delay on these sequences? You also always seem to make these melodies shine with the SQ1. I find it a little fiddly so I know I just need more time with it but would love any insight you have on using it for programing.

Yes I usually have some effect at the end of my audio chain, here it was the Strymon El Capistan, a tape delay (sim). I use the SQ1 mostly by ear and spend hours on tuning. Only a tiny bit of the outcome makes its way here, the rest is more or less hard to digest out of tune weird noise.

Thanks for an inspiring video! But I totally missed how you set the second sequence to run slower and end with the first. I have two Behringer 1027 Sequential Controllers in my 2500 rig. I was able to make a 4/3 Polymeter by sending the gate of position step 5 to the Reset on the first 1027 making a 4 step sequence. Then I sent the position gate of step 4 to the Reset on the second 1027 to make a 3 step sequence. Finally, I sent the Clock Out on the first 1027 to the Step input on the second 1027 and had a Polymeter. How do I go from that to a Polyrythmn? In other words, how to do I set the second sequencer to run slower than the first so as to have them end at the same time?

Without a clock divider this will be quite impossible - I used the 1027 as a "gate" source only, where it breaks down to just turn up a different number of "gate steps" in the two sequencers, while having them run at the same speed and through the same number of steps each. For different speeds, you need some divider for the clock signal, perhaps with the 1050?

@@synthesizer83 Thank you! I just purchased a Doepfer A160-2. This seems to be the missing piece.
