Polymer Clay Tutor Favorite Tools & Supplies 2016

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Last year my Polymer Clay Tutor 2015 review video was so popular, that I decided to do another favorite products and supplies review again this year for 2016.
There were a lot of new products released in the past 12 months, and I could not possible cover them all in just one video, but here are the ones that I keep coming back to over and over again.
Make sure to leave a comment about your favorite products this year and ones you would like to see me review in 2017.
Do watch to the end of the video, for a sneak peak at some of the products I will be reviewing early in 2017. Enjoy and let's all have a Happy 2017 year of Polymer Clay Fun :)
As mentioned in the video, I have put together a comprehensive list of links to both the product videos that I did on these products over the past year, and to the affiliate links to where you can buy them. Please visit our PcT blog (Video #763) for more info... www.beadsandbeading.com/blog/?...

Hi Cindy. I would like so many of the items you talked about in your (excellent) video. I bought a lot of last year's and would like more this time. I live in U.K. And it is very expensive to get things shipped from US. I am coming to Boston in March. A shopping trip! Are the products you mentioned available in the craft stores? I hope so.

If not where can I find them with of course not full price as on Heidi swapp website...😥 I'll go watch the rest of your video lol 😊

Hey cindy, can you do a review video on efcolor stove?? I know this doesn't sound polymer clay related but some people bake their polymer clay in this stove. Maybe you are familiar with this product and are able to give me any suggestions. Thank you

I was searching around the web when I came a cross this photo of this polymer clay cane of a lighting bolt that look so cool that it look like some one had painted the lighting bolt on to the cane, who ever it was that made this cane didn't say how they made or show a video of it. so I was wondering if you had seen it and if you know how they made it and if you do can you show your fan how to make that kind of polymer clay cane? I would love to make that type of art work.

Hi Cindy, can I ask please the gorgeous Carpe Diem A5 planner you have, can you let me know if the plastic sleeves you have in the back were they from Carpe Diem or somewhere else?

They are the 6 x 8 pockets from Simple Stories. They come with only two holes (They line up with the center holes in each set of three holes in the A5 planner) and I had to punch the other four holes by hand, but they fit beautifully!

Hi, I looked at your list as I was interested in what was IN THE STORAGE BOXES but I found no links. I did find the silkscreens in multiple links (silly me, I thought they all came in one box, Ha) but none of the acrylic thing in the Pandora thingy thing. Could you point me to where I can find those please? And thank you for your videos, all of them.

I'm using a knitting needle to bake my beads on, but I'm having trouble releasing the beads. Do you have a suggestion for releasing baked beads?

  • @PolymerClayTutor

After putting your bead on the knitting needle, make sure to give it a turn or two so it is loose, before you bake it. That will make it much easier to release.

hi, I wanted to ask a question, in a video quite a long time ago you said you should bake clay for 60 minutes for extra strength , but wouldn't the clay burn? or do you have to lower the temperature after awhile? I'm a beginner and haven't baked pieces ever , so I want to know what to do ! 😊

Eve's Clay Studios, the key is to get an oven thermometer and make sure your oven stays at the correct temperature. If the temperature is correct you can bake things for hours and they won't burn. It helps if you tent your items as well with a foil pan or paper. I use a manilla file folder to tent over most of my items. It's important to make sure paper doesn't touch the sides or top of the oven of course, but otherwise it won't burn. Same goes for your clay. Sometimes the colors darken a little more if I leave things in more than a couple hours, but otherwise they're fine. I once forgot I had clay in the oven and left the house to run some errands and visit with my family. I came home many hours later to find everything just fine because I know exactly where to set my dial so that my oven is at the correct temperature based on testing and experience. Check out some of Cindy's other videos where she goes into more detail on this if you want more information. Hope that helps. :)

Hi, will you tell me if I can put polymer clay over wood. I found a cute wood bird house and wanted to use clay to make it into a fairy garden? Thanks

  • @DreamingCatStudio

    @DreamingCatStudio

Deborah, you can apply polymer clay onto wood and bake it, as long as it fits in your oven! To be super-sure the clay sticks, I often apply a little liquid polymer clay between the wood and PC, but I'm not sure that's necessary.

Hi Lizzie, I think maybe your blade is not sharp enough. Also you could try putting your cane in the fridge to firm it up before slicing. Hopefully that helps.
