    Hey Cindy I bought the Polyfast sander and it helps me and it doesn't cause my pain to increase. The only problem I had is with the Velcro that holds the sanding disk came off but I used some good glue and it works fine now. I think it works fine.

    I use a dremel with sanding/polishing wheels(which are really cheap in bulk online), and rarely do I use the high setting, that's for final buff before I glaze the bead/pendent. IF I glaze. But with that speed, power and the right buffing wheels, it starts to gloss up in seconds. It's really cool, but the dremel took a little getting used to. I got it for engraving and designs I want to do and for drilling bead holes. Now I use it for everything! I didn't catch, how much do those go for?

    Hi Cindy! I am fairly new to Polymer and I am having problems with sculpting items that may or may not need wire to help with structure. For example, I want to sculpt a tree and i cannot seem to get the clay around the wire cleanly or if I am doing a figurine i don't know how to use the wire without being neat. If that makes sense. I have been through your videos and couldn't find anything like that. Thank you in advance!

    The JoolToolis a wonderful tool. If you're having troubles it is most likely because you are using it at too high a speed. It is a superior tool in my opinion, but it is a LOT more expensive. I'd have to look it up again, but I think this one is around $50-$60 bucks which will be in the ball park for a lot more people.

    I don't think I would buy that tool because I hate the pollution of batteries and the cost. I simply use a ziplock baggy and put the working end through the corner of it and secure it with a rubber band, making sure I don't close the zipper part. I like the zipper kind because it makes the open part stay open with its stiffness. I started doing the tool that way when I started carving bone and antlers with my Dremel. Using water to keep the dust down and soften the blow of the smell of those two substances. I still wear my respirator because we live in an area that is southeast of Chicago. The wind comes out of Canada usually and blows the pollution our way. In fact, we have a 75% asthma rate for the school-age kids in Gary and Miller Beach Indiana. So, with that and being in the flight path for landings at our small airport, our lungs take a beating.

    I went to the only link I could find for Poly-Fast and holy cow that is one expensive tool! It's 64.00 dollars in US dollars, not including what you pay in shipping overseas. I couldn't find a US store that sells this, or a US (English) website. Is there a US website, or do you know of any US stores that carry this product? I would be interested, but not confident about ordering from over seas. Thanks

  • @JaneDoe-xl5be

    @JaneDoe-xl5be

    The big drawback with a Dremel is that it isn't designed to be used in/under/with water. I also am not sure you can get the variety of sandpaper grits that this device offers. I could be wrong about that, but I certainly haven't seen more than a handful of grits available for the Dremel. I do use my Dremel to do some sanding on my clay projects, but not for very fine, detailed work.

    I wanted to point out a bit of info I found about the toxicity of polymer clay. They say it is non-toxic but if you have the polymerizer on your hands and touch your eyes or mucus membranes, it can cause blisters. Also, allowing the clay to burn makes the polymerizer toxic. I got the blister info from experience and the toxic info from the FDA.

I'm definitely going to look into it. I do some sanding with my Dremel, but it certainly isn't ideal since it can't be used with/in water. I wasn't able to find the Polyfast available on any North American websites, so shipping may end up being almost as much as the sander! If anyone has found them in the US or Canada, I'd love to know about it.

    This product looks like a great idea. My concern is that it looks large in ur hand. It could, at this size, cause problems for people who have nerve damage or various problems with their hands. Just my opinion but I feel they (mfg) needs to consider a smaller version for people who may have ailments in their hands. Another idea might be to shape it like a glue gun possibly. Thanks for showing us new products and the efficiency of those products.
