POLPERRO | Exploring holiday coastal seaside village of Polperro Cornwall
Polperro is a coastal seaside holiday village located between Fowey and Looe in Cornwall, England. Polperro is a charming holiday destination known for its beautiful beaches, historic fishing village, and delicious seafood. The village is situated on the south coast of Cornwall, and its name is derived from the Cornish word "Pol" meaning a pool and "Perro" meaning a pier, referring to the natural harbour that has been used by the fishing community for centuries.
One of the main attractions in Polperro is the picturesque harbour. The harbour is home to a fleet of fishing boats, and visitors can watch the boats come and go and buy fresh fish from the local fishermen. The harbour is also a great place to take a stroll and admire the views of the sea and the surrounding hills. Additionally, the harbour is a great spot for boat trips and fishing trips, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience the sea and catch a glimpse of the local marine life.
Another popular attraction in Polperro is the beach. Polperro beach is a small but beautiful sandy beach that is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The beach is also home to a number of rock pools, which are great for exploring and discovering the local marine life. Visitors can also take a walk along the coastal path, which offers stunning views of the sea and the surrounding cliffs.
Polperro is also known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The village has a number of historic buildings and monuments, including the St. Polperro Heritage Museum, which provides a glimpse into the village's history and heritage, displaying artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of the village and its people. Visitors can also take a stroll through the old village and admire the charming fisherman's cottages and narrow streets.
The village also has a thriving arts and culture scene, with a number of galleries and museums showcasing the work of local artists and craftsmen. The Polperro Heritage Museum, for example, provides a glimpse into the village's history and heritage, displaying artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of the village and its people. Additionally, Polperro has a number of festivals and events throughout the year, such as the Polperro Festival, Polperro Food Festival, and the Polperro Arts Festival, which celebrates the village's local culture and heritage.
Polperro also offers a wide range of outdoor activities for visitors, such as hiking and cycling. The village is located close to the South West Coast Path, which is a 630-mile coastal path that runs along the south coast of England. Visitors can take a walk along the path and enjoy the stunning views of the sea and the surrounding countryside. Additionally, Polperro is located near the Bodmin Moor, which is a beautiful and rugged area of moorland that is perfect for hiking and cycling.
For those who are looking for a more peaceful and relaxed experience, Polperro is home to a number of tranquil spots such as the Polperro Heritage Coast, a peaceful area where visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the coast and watch the boats come and go. Additionally, the village is home to a number of secluded coves and beaches, which are perfect for those seeking a more secluded and peaceful experience.
In conclusion, Polperro is a charming and tranquil coastal village located in Cornwall, England. The village is known for its beautiful beaches, historic fishing village, and delicious seafood. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque harbour, take a stroll along the coastal path, and explore the village's rich history and cultural heritage. Additionally, Polperro offers a wide range of outdoor activities and events throughout the year, making it a great destination for visitors of all.

Another lovely clip, thank you .I’ve been to polperro several times and had some lovely times there, good memories, one time though visited just after the awful floods in the early nineties, everything that wasn’t tied down and even a couple of cars was all in the river and jammed against the bridges, lots of badly flooded houses and businesses including a small museum which was still half under water when we were there , sad sight . It’s a bad sign of the times that these lovely places are being lost to second home owners just using them a few times a year or holiday let’s ,it takes the soul and community out of them,I have friends in Suffolk and their villages have gone from locals who had lived there for years with lots of small shops for daily living to ghost villages in the winter with only a few antique or craft shops catering for the passers through .
Absolutely beautiful. We loved this village. Thank you!

Thank you too!
Those little streams running down by the side of houses, I would just love to live there, the sound at night of the running water, bliss! The cottages have such character because of the days when they were built, it's like a living trip down memory lane... can just imagine horse and carts going by. Things have been so well preserved. Love the subtle way you bring the signature white trainers into view. Another great walk around such a gorgeous little coastal area ^_^
What a beautiful place thanks neil

Love visiting Polperro and following the river down to the beach. The flowers in summer along the way are really beautiful. I'm sure I've had a drink in all the pubs there along the years ha ha. You can see a view of the harbour from a window in the upstairs bar of the Blue Peter Inn. I think the harbour looks much better when the tide is in though, really stunning. I went in the cave once, when the tide was coming in, to get a few quick photos. Of course the tide can come in really fast in Cornwall. It was lapping the steps so had to wait for the sea to retreat then jump on the steps to get up before the next wave came. It was definitely over the first step. We walked along the top road as well overlooking the cave. Took some awesome photos. Had a cream tea on the way back at the Green House cafe near the model village. It's a beautiful quaint place. Thank you for sharing your video x
Wonderful tour, thank you so much! Love your sense of humour, those little witty comments peppering the tour are really nice to read!

Thank you!
Years ago they had horses and carts to ferry people from the car park to the harbour, when they stopped there were electric carts, like milk floats, to do the job of you didn't fancy the walk. They were still running the last time I was here a few years ago, in peak season of course. As you say it does get very busy in the summer, some would say uncomfortably so but that's the same throughout Cornwall.

Loved this place & the slippery sea adventure walk how amazing to see the Shells hanging on to the rocks like that! And the pinky orange Lobsters just lying there on the beach. And the pinkish sand is lovely too. A perfect coastal wintery walk to celebrate your Birthday with Neil🎉 Also loved that amazing Cave!

They're always ghost towns in winter since very few people actually live there anymore, all holiday homes.
Absolutely love Polperro, been visiting since i was a kid and im now nearly 50 😂 in fact we are off to stay in Looe right near the beach in August and I've already set aside a day in Polperro. I too love to go in Winter when you feel like you're the only person in the village. Its magical anytime of year. Fantastic video mate, and the added touch of the music as you got closer to the harbour was a nice touch. Cant wait to get to Cornwall again soon. 😊

Thanks you saved me a plane ticket again !!!! That was a great B Day gift. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤾♀️🤸♀️🏃
Lovely video. The view of the sea from the cave was beautiful. Such a shame that it's become a ghost village in winter. Locals have just been priced out of such places.
Absolutely beautiful another place I must visit one day soon

We visited in October was very busy then makes you wonder how the businesses cope in winter with nobody around
Beautiful place. It seems like it’s just for tourists and elites with second homes? Where’s the actual people from Cornwall and Devon live?… I’m just curious. I’m from the northeast and would love to visit down south and have never ventured far, but just makes me a little sad nobody lives there permanently? Gorgeous area of the uk.
Very lovely, like always keep following your trips around from Germany…Cornwall for me the most incredible Place…but the UK is very beautiful anyway ❤❤❤ so I guess the caves are under water when the tide comes in ? 🤗🤗🤗

Polperro by a mile, such a pretty place and so much to see, Nothing unique about Clovelly, just pay the £8.50 each to get in and £5 for the landrover back up the very steep hill, was there a couple of years ago and a total waste of money, never again.
@user-zp4ge3yp2o
Жыл бұрын
Not much to see at Clovelly, but there's a good walk if you park at Bucks Mills to the east and walk along the coast to Clovelly and back, means you don't have to pay to get in either.
thanks for the video, we wont be visiting there, £6.00 for parking a motorcycle.
