My personal signature frag. (I'm 19) Yes, it's very old school with that cigarette tobacco and the pine, leather, oakmoss, musk and stuff. Still it's amazing, it is just one of the manliest scents ever created, my respects to the perfumer Mr. Carlos benaim. This cologne when used with the right clothing just adds a plus of manliness and maturity, also brings people back to the 1970's...

Exactly. Its a masterpiece. The best masculine fragrance ever created. This is not a grandpa scent- its timeless masculine and classic. The sweet pine sap, leather, tobacco & oakmoss. If this was released today it would be hyped more than Aventus! You dont get musk funk like in Obsession nor that pissy smell from Kouros. Modern day childish toothache drops can learn a lot from this cologne. The sweet pine sap and lack of offensive funk in the base makes it perfect for 2022. Its Alpha yet so polite and elegant all at the same time.

This was my dad's signature scent, and it too was my signature scent throughout the 90s up to when I graduated in 2002. I still wear regularly today, it's a timeless classic!

Same, lol… I heard the old formula had toxic levels of oak moss… I always assumed it was the Louisiana School District that made me funny… Which never made scents-cause I grew up in Kansas.🤪

This was my Grandfather's go to. I still have his last bottle he had from 2012. I have a bottle that I only wear to family functions because the smell reminds everyone of our Grandpa.

Using it since past 35 years. The only perfume I love.

The only fragrance to ever get a 10/10!

Bro, I wore that throughout high school in the mid 90’s. I love it still to this day. I’ve got a pretty substantial collection at this point but I’ll still pop the top and give it a spritz once or twice a week. Great scent

I love this fragrance man, amazing.

One of the best scents of this type ever created, there’s a reason it’s lasted on the market this long. Very respectable and refreshing for a green/spicy scent. Personally I feel this makes you smell not nearly as old as other old man scents. Just highly masculine. Love it.

I still wear this at age 44 because it just works with my scent chemistry. I use one spray on the front of my neck and I'm good for the whole day. It easily lasts more than 10 hours.

It’s my personal go to, it really is timeless. Kind of an all around fragrance works on almost any occasion as it can be strong but subtle.

I'm on my fourth bottle. My first ever fragrance since I was 18. Surprised mint wasn't mentioned. I was at the mall recently and noticed smelled the new formulation and the opening now smells like pine and mint. Not bad. Whatever smelled "medicinal" 🤷‍♂️ maybe basil in past formulations is gone. Anyway I love it.

My first and last. They will bury me in this scent. I have never really noticed the reformulation and have been wearing it since 8th grade in 81. I alternate many scents for a temporary change up, but never feel quite right in them and never receive the compliments I get with Original green. Can't touch it.

Great fragrance, but I agree 100%. Can be overwhelming and strong. Use lightly and under layers in the winter. I’ve put this on in the evening and still had base notes before a morning shower.

The hard to find Cosmair version is the best formula hands down.

This was my dads signature when he met my mom so i bought a bottle almost a year ago its a 2021 or 2022 Batch i forgot the smell amazin g i pick up alot of juniper musk tobacco pine and amber performance 11/10 had this last 1 day full projection and 2 more skin scent the projection is 3 to 5 feet i typically get 4 the silage is amazing i have had someone smell this on me while walking by ten feet behind me i recommended 1 to 3 sprays

I think it's even longer than 10h. You may call me silly but I like to smell fragrances I have so I often spray once on a place in on a wall and smell whenever often when I pass by. I did it with this one yesterday evening and today morning I could still smell it.

Get it, there are very few things like it. Also consider that the reformulations specially the latest ones, are weaker and more synthetic smelling, i personally have a clone which copies a more old school formulation and it's great, the clone lasts me 8, 9 hours and just smells so powerfully, and i know another clone which is even older school, smokier, heavier, et cetera.

@@ShilohBoca the best one i know is from Perfumes Europeos, only lacks leather and a rose nuance. On the other side, the Fraiche one (both from Mexico) is more piney and i haven't tried the opening. Classic Match Polo clone is great, clones the Cosmair formula. Still i got 2020 formulation original Polo and it is amazing, smokey and all.

To those reading this: yes the older bottles are way better. But if you get a bottle from 2019 and up it smells like the vintage. It didn't smell the same for many years but they reformulated it back to smelling like the og in 2019. So when people say newer bottles aren't good they mean 2010s to 2018. Trust me

Either I purchased a defective version or my sniffer is broken. It smelled like skunky weed mixed with Aqua Velva to me. My wife hated it too. I gave the rest to a friend who smelled it and promptly tossed it in the garbage (fortunately it was only a mini bottle and didn't cost much).

Doesn't last or project as they claim it to be. But overall a very nice scent and the blend is amazing.

I'm 40. Never worn cologne and neither did my dad or anyone else I knew, so I have nothing to go on. Never smelled this before and didn't know the history or that it was a "manly" scent. I recently bought a 4 pack of Ralph Lauren colognes and this was one of them. I thought it was a spray top, which it wasn't, and I spilled quite a bit on my hands and backpack (in the airport no less). I tried to wash it off to no avail, it is incredibly persistent and not soap soluble. At first the top note was too much and reminded me of those cheap scent sticks you throw under a plastic christmas tree. I wasn't initially drawn to it at all. Once that burnt off and the pine, cedar(?), and what to me is slightly burnt cigar/ashy richness came through I really started to enjoy it. None of the other polo bottles come close, this stuff is great and I've been sneaking sniffs of it every chance I get. What other colognes are similar? I don't like floral, aquatic (polo blue), frozen mango or whatever that scent is called (polo black) or warm-ish fruity scents (polo red). I like pine, cedar, burnt cigar, with leather underneath it all (but subtle). I like something bold and unafraid to actually smell like something distinct right up top. So many colognes all smell the same but different, it's boring and can only be told apart by an aficionado. Polo green is something most people could tell apart and that's what I like. It is distinct and that's hard to come by even among the other pine-y/woodsy/ashy scents. The few I have smelled anyway. Any recs?

I know what you mean.

This cologne is so old, however it's so elegant. It has a very English vibe to it, if that makes sense. I just love the bottle. A cologne like this should only be worn when dressed formally. I have been contemplating on whether or not to purchase it for literally three years now. I have so many fragrances as it is.

Can i wear it in hot weather? (Asia)

For some reason, I can't stand this fragrance! Really bad!! But Blue Polo is amazing!!! And Joop Homme is great!

1 year later, I love it! Crazy how one's preference changes!

Projection and sillage is the best for all of their line. Scent I’ll give it a very low score as it is not versatile at all. It is meant for some older guys 50s or plus going golfing and smoking cigars. If you are leaning towards this kind of scent I would rather go with Dior farenheit.

Polo green is my top cologne. Exactly a 10 . This is a man cologne. Super masculine. Now you know.

Spicy grandpop smell (and I’m almost 40). One spray gave me a headache the entire day.

@@Scenteno usually fresh and clean scents. Recent favorites creed green Irish tweed and Prada la homme. Other fresh scents aqua di gio, Gucci guilty, polo sport, polo blue, Versace Eros. Really depends on the mood, occasion, location, weather. Some of those are warm and sweet, some are crisp and clean but all fresh. But just like you mentioned in the video if you are used to new modern fragrances it’s def something you should try before you buy. Always a good idea to order a sample before buying a big bottle.

I’ve tried it once on the back of my hand and had to wash my hands after a couple os minutes. Not a great one at all
