On a personal note, I've been a cop for over 27 years. I've seen dead bodies of all varieties, including more than I care to see of gunshot victims. I can tell you that other than somebody sticking a shotgun in their mouth or a high powered rifle under their chin, the head stays intact. I've worked crime scenes where they did stick a shotgun in their mouth. Yup, heads gone. High powered rifle, like a .270 or .30-06 or greater under the chin. Head gone. But they have to get a gas seal. If the muzzle doesn't make contact, the gas expands outside of the wound. What blows a head apart is a good seal and the gas expanding into the wound channel, disrupting the cracked bone. Pictures of dead people aren't shown publicly because there's no reason to and the families don't want to see a dead loved one no matter what shape they're in. They want to take our guns away because we could use them to remove them from power. They don't give a shit about our safety, or your kids. They are trying to get rid of the Second Amendment, so they can stop worrying about the ramifications of taking away the rest of our liberties.

@@toddzircher6168 this was definitely just bc they didn't really do research for this and picked a random number. But since we're arguing the point already, 40 watts is different for a directed energy weapon than it would be for an oven or a light bulb. For example, some of the most powerful lasers you can buy are about 40 watts. Since a laser focuses all the energy on one point, it can do much more damage. Now, idk how this would relate to a plasma rifle since no one has invented one yet, but it's worth mentioning.

Or basically pull the trigger twice shoot twice. A full automatic gun, like the vector, shoots at 1,200 rounds PER MIN, which is a lot, but nothing to the 1000 shot per second. Second they do require background checks and unless you are using 40mm rounds from at rifles or such the body will still exist Please stop spreading miss information. Yes I do agree gun laws need to be enacted, but the way the government is enacting these laws are very unclear, pointless and absolutely stupid.

Sounds like a pretty good rule of thumb. I was a Spec Ops combat medic and have been shot twice with an AK47 overseas. Through the thigh and wrist while kneeling. Severed femoral artery, vein ( lost 6cm's of each and had to have 2 saphenous vein grafts harvested from the opposite leg ) and partially severed femoral nerve. EBL was over 2L. Tourniquet was applied in under a minute and i still lost that much blood, passed out and went into hypovolemic shock. Over the next 5-6 days roughly, about 2/3rds of my vastus medialus was debrided away. Medically, I typically tell people who are willing to listen, that tourniquets should always be applied immediately if an arterial bleed is suspected or observed. Trying to apply a "pressure dressing" would have gotten me killed quickly. That's old, outdated doctrine. Ballistically, I typically tell people who are willing to listen, that SPEED is what does the most damage, not shrapnel or tumbling bullets or expanding hollow point bullets. To verify this, i simply tell people to go watch different rounds impact ballistic gel. Rifle rounds are traveling so fast with so much force and energy is at play, that tissue cells literally explode. This is why i had debridements done every day for about 6 days in a row to remove all the dead muscle and other tissue. I also had 4 emergent compartment fasciotomies and developed a DVT. Rifle rounds are no joke. My leg was almost lost. I still have horrible nerve damage.

@@rascalmatt6713 While all of this is true, something to keep in mind is AK-74Ms (what you likely encountered) fires a 7.62x39mmR round, a non-NATO standard for this is .308; whereas an AR platform rifle (what they want banned) fires a 5.56mm round, which is equal to .223; The whole argument loses its merit purely because of that because even though a NATO standard AR cartridge is traveling at 3200f/s upon leaving the barrel and *very quickly* drops to under 2000f/s after 400 yards. Compare this to 7.62 which travels at roughly 2,400f/s and it throws the whole "speed is key" thing out the window. It's ultimately less about the velocity of the round and more of the energy. An AK produces 1,560 ft·lbf at the muzzle whereas a standard AR is producing only 1,294 ft⋅lbf at the muzzle from an equal grain load. Ultimately the damage done is an equation of distance, muzzle energy and velocity.

Doesn't take much looking to find how ignorant and incompetent the people in congress are. They are not brilliant, most are below average intellect, the rest on the mean or very near to it. They have a thirst for power and control, a lack of morality, self awareness, and common decency, they are out for themselves and fleece us to get what they want. Very very few of them garner something other than disdain from me. I am a veteran who they sent into the meat grinder twice. If they're not stopped soon by strict laws, they'll be able to legally buy Imperator class titans, and they will literally shoot up schools. If you drive a mobile battle fortress that is 100 meters tall (including the fortified cathedral at its top), a mere school is not even a valid target by itself, since the smallest thing you can target is a city district. When will somebody think of the children and everyone who lives in the same metropolitan area as them? The police simply cannot react fast enough to get to the scene before a titan obliterates the whole city with its Sunfury Pattern Plasma Annihilator weapon. Mainly since they're within said city when it is turned into a glass-rimmed crater.
