Policing on the East Coast | New Zealand Police
This is us. Policing on the East Coast has many rewards as well as challenges.
Meet some of our amazing staff who work in our small tight knit communities in Eastern District, of Te Araroa, Tolaga Bay and Ruatoria, along with the special people who partner with us every day to help keep those communities safe.
Applications to join Police are now open in some areas. See www.newcops.govt.nz for more information.

This is TRUE community policing & keeping our communities safe.
"Keen as a bean" "There's a blitz on tonight" NZ colloquialisms are some of the most unique in the world. And where else in the world can you find a first responder/medic with a tattooed face?!? And look at all the hugs and smiles! Can I come live there?
This is what sets our people in blue both women and men above any other police force in the world..I'm so proud of our police force, they are more than police they are us 🤩👍
This clip of introducing who’s who is fantastic. It’s comforting to be assured that my remote homeland and family still there will be in safe hands. Thank you for your service on SH35. Enjoy the crays for me.
Great video. Love seeing the wholesome commuinity people operating out of small towns in new Zealand. Very refreshing. From an Aucklander.

Kia Kaha guys! Also just a quick question, what do Police do for drill? Like Right turns, what do you use for callings? The Army uses Platoon and such. But what do you guys, the Police use?

I looked through some of the police graduation videos, they use parade, I’m not sure if it varies between the event or whatever, but that’s what I found out

An old whitey from Thames , you people have shown Aotearoa how to be human without ego and think and help the people. Kia kaha àpopo for the Wairua
I'm unaccustomed to seeing police in this light I know they exist it just seems so far and few between, it's like I say give a group of people the authority to cause you greaves bodily harm........ and they will every time!

Totally agree. My brother and my father are Maori men who ride motorcycles and have facial moko (tattoos) and they get harassed often, they both have jobs and they are not gang members or criminals, but they are treated as such because of the way they look. The majority of my experience with police has been negative, and I would not seek there help if I was in trouble.

@elraxomcgoutfoot9625 blame the gangs for that bro.
what happened to pm keys dps agents liaison with dean miller. greg mapp. phillip taylor and police giles hoy det. forced out force a . is what it is.
Ive been watching what's happening around the world. In France, in the UK and the US. Where police it seems are being used against the people often brutally who are protesting about things that really matter ( in some cases) that should be addressed by their govt and aren't. I very much hope that as things get worse here as they are going to that the New Zealand police will do the right thing by the people of this country.... not the status quo.... the powerful.... the corporations. Because at the end of the day it is not poor people with limited resources struggling day to day to get by that are the real problem in this neoliberal user pays nightmare that is a world run by bankers. But I fear this will not be the case. Even though this little video paints a picture and a story that you care.

Hey New Zealand Police, do you want some new U.S. market 2022 Ford Broncos for your fleet?

@Raptor 🇳🇿 You can call up Whiteman U.S. Air Force Base for a couple Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber aircraft, for Royal New Zealand Air Force use.
My brother and my father are Maori men with facial moko (tattoos) and who ride motorcycles, and consequently the police regularly pull them over for nothing. I myself have witnessed the police ignore several Pakeha who were also riding motorcycles, but they chose to pull over my father and question him, just because of the way he looks! My 8 year old nephew asked me why the police "always stop Grandpa", what am I supposed to say? He shouldn't have to learn about systemic racism at 8 years old! My father and my brother are decent people who both have jobs, they are not gang members and they are not criminals.

@El Raxo McGoutfoot Here on the internet there is an article "Maori Tattoo: The Definitive Guide to Ta Moko". It gives a rather short introduction to Maori Tattoo, with illustrations.

Blame the Maori gangs for that bro. It's not some "Systemic racism"

@@AmonAnon-vw3hr Lol that's probably coming from someone who hasn't even experienced systemic racism, which IS very much a real thing, my dad has been treated this way MANY times, long before he even had moko, and we live in the South Island in a town where there isn't even many gangs. And no, I don't blame the gangs, even though I hate them, they aren't the ones judging my dad by the way he looks, the Police are, who are a part of the "system". But I'm not here to try and convince people, so you can believe what you want.
Treat yourself to some fush and chups.
I white boy wouldn't fit in in that town

Racist git. The Reeve's are a Uawa family. Pretty much all the Pakiha family's up the coast have Maori blood too.
