I live in Taiwan and what I heard here was that both of them were banned from entering Taiwan for 5 years. She told media she had reported it to the police, but when media followed up the police said they had no report, so later she admitted it was all a lie. All of that broke some Taiwanese law (basically disturbing the peace). The Good night chicken (晚安小雞) case was wild. A Taiwanese streamer faked a kidnapping in Cambodia, and Cambodian courts sentenced him to 2 years in jail. Basically Taiwan is taking this case really seriously because all these fake streamers are making them look bad in SE Asia.

For another context there was a case where two Taiwanese went to Cambodia mentioned at 4:40 and staged a fake kidnapping incident only to be investigated to be fake. Both men got arrested, which is why Taiwan is so heavily investigating this case. They do not like fakes tarnishing their reputation.

I kind of understand because here in PH, there's also a case like that where some stupid youtuber did a prank kidnapping (not all the people they "pranked" was in on the whole skit since one of them is a police in leave whom I think but I don't remember, almost shoot them.) But on the other hand, this is a skit where someone threw eggs on you. Regardless if it's fake or not, the only one hurt on this is that streamer so I fail to see the problem especially if they both consented on throwing eggs at her.

I live in Kaohsiung - the 60$ was kinda worth it. It was the male lawyer that was saying Taiwan law doesn't criminalize this kind of "pranking" (misinformation/fraud). Contrast with a case where a Taiwanese KZreadr (Goodnight Chicken) went to Cambodia and filmed a piece where he claimed to be abducted and beaten. He was caught by police and sentenced to 2 years in jail immediately. Anyway, this Singaporean and her cohorts fled Taiwan after telling police they would come in to explain their actions. Taiwan immigration has banned them from coming back to Taiwan for 5 years... F around and (kinda) find out...

This is why I hate things like this where you're forced to prepay for a service that might not even work. I had a corrupt video from my dashcam of an accident that happened once. So many services promised to be able to correct it, but they wanted me to pay before I was even allowed to watch a sample to make sure they actually fixed it. The only one that did let me watch a sample pretty much only fixed the file format, enabling me to watch the file but the video was still hopelessly corrupted. If I had paid, I'd be out money and still have a file that is functionally useless against the driver trying to say it was my fault he rear ended me. Being forced to pay for an AI service that might not even be able to do what you're asking is no different and it's, frankly, dishonest.

She's trying to pull a Jinnytty move. Jinny did a waddlethon in Taiwan where at 1 point 1 dude LITERALLY WAS FOLLOWING her. After a few hours, viewers saw and knew the location, contacted police, the man was confronted, got a bit aggressive, then got arrested, and it was in the news. Kiara is trying to do the same thing, but it backfired.

lol...Kiara just straight up trying to copy what other people do is pretty normal for her, but also a bit interesting given her past with Jinny. But specifically trying to copy her waddlethon thing is pretty hilarious because there ain't no way Kiara would even be able to do half of it...which is probably partly why she pulled this stunt. Also not surprising it was a very poorly executed attempt at copying her. Like, random person throwing eggs...really?

Major cultural differences. In Asian countries they don't take that type of disrespectful behavior lightly because of the high standards for behavior and societal responsibility. Where you are raised, the culture and environment, drastically changes how you react to certain actions. How you are raised and what you're used to changes what you would be offended or hurt by. When the entirety of the people around you, in the place you were raised, find something abhorrent, you're more likely to have a stronger reaction. Similarly, if you tell someone from Japan "just kidding" after joking about something terrible happening, you can really hurt their trust in you. Or if you sit in certain ways more common in Western countries...it is extremely rude in yet again Japan, where some might even assume you are a prostitute for sitting in such ways. How we behave, think, feel, is entirely molded by our society.
