totally agree, the actual right hand action takes a lot of practice. and then to throw the open tuning on top of that.. hey im 72 and still consider myself "average" in this style of pickin. I just think its great that someone so young reverts back to the beginning of todays music. It really is something that many pickers will gravitate back to the "beginnings" of some of the best music on the planet. I evolved from rock, to blues, to old country blues and discovered the beauty of this music . Then I discovered how this music influenced blue grass and how much blues is actually in blue grass.. we all have a journey.. I would like to see her in 10 years.. see what path she finds for herself.. wonderful video.. just wonderful.

The fact that this is wonderful young artist has embraced these beautiful and moving songs from 90-100 years ago, written and performed by the originators of the blues, and the fact that she knows who Blind Blake was, and I imagine Lemon Jefferson and Gary Davis and Memphis Minnie and Big Joe Williams, fills my heart. Bravo.

Impressive picking, I'm 72 and listened to blues all my life and your guitar playing is as good as it gets. Your voice is young, light and female not your average blues sound but it works and is quite refreshing. The way you roll and dance through these blues standards is a joy to listen to. Keep it up. Thank you Muireann you made an old scotsman happy.

It's mind blowingly good isn't it! I kept bursting out laughing cause at different points in the album she'd do something on that guitar that was what i'd expect from a master with 50 years experience.. Coming from a kid!

I'm same age, and been in love with the blues since my teen age years. This was fresh and lovely. So great to find a new "purist", they are rare these days

I'm 60 years old, I've been playing acoustic blues guitar since I was 15. I can't hold a candle to you. I is humbled. Maybe one day you will be the successor to the throne. Which of course is held by Rory Gallagher.

100% the coolest kid in her high school. I hope she comes to the states on a tour soon. John Mayer, let this young lady open for you!! 🙂

I was probably one of the first broadcasters to play Blind BLake´s music on Irish Radio (The HOuse of R&B ..Radio 1) back in the 80´s ..I never thought. back then there would. come such an extraordinary talent as Muireann obviously is. ! She has it all...technique, feel, etc!! The spirit if the old ragtime blues lives on in her hands.

This is a very rare God given talent we have here. Both vocal and guitar plucking are both pitch perfect, Godspeed to you young Muireann Bradley. Slainte.

I was moved to tears also. When I first heard Ry Cooders version I dedicated myself to learning this wonderful blues song. I never got it exactly right but you have. Kudos.👏

Just received your CD in the mail a couple days ago after hearing you on social media. I have not been this enthused by a new blues guitarist in years. I've been a blues fan since my teens and am now 72. I look forward to hearing more of your stuff. You've got that sweet style of Mississippi John Hurt, Elizabeth Cotten, Rev. I have an unopened copy for my nephew and the US address is: Josh Rosenthal/Tompkins Square/2335 Larkin Street Apt 11/San Francisco, CA 94109. I play my copy all the time and since Neph is a guitar player I figure he needs to hear Ms. Bradley. I'll probably wind up buying more of her albums to give to all my old blues hound friends. Well, the ones that are still alive. Search Tompkins Square records and they will set you up. Wait until you hear her rendition of Shake Sugaree. And Stagolee. And Richland Woman Blues. And Candyman. Hell, the whole album is dynamite. I got it in CD but it is also available in vinyl and, are you ready? Cassette. Think I'll put that CD on now.

I used to think that nobody could interpret Blind Blake better than Leon Redbone. That was before I heard this wonderful young lady from Ireland. I ordered her CD and it is all fantastic. Mississippi John Hurt, Reverend Gary Davis, this girl plays them all with her intricate picking and light touch harmonics. I play her record every day.

The finest version of this I've ever heard....just utterly astonishing

Not since riverdance have I been so proud. Her dad taught her. He's probably as good but he admitted savage stage fright in an interview on northern Irish radio station. What a dad.

Excellent, got the groove just right. Astonishing to think this artist is likely a still decade or two away from the peak of her ability and sophistication.

Heard a bit more Irish accent than on the home recording but I could be wrong. Sounds terrific either way 👌.

I always anchor with my pinky when fingerpicking. You use the ring finger but glad to see I'm not the only one. Way to keep this music alive, good stuff

RIP In fact I received one of those gig emails and they still had a follow for Woody Mann. I sent them an email enlightening them to his passing, took of the woody page but no obituary or even a statement to inform people of his passing.

Yeah, I do hear that - nice touch! I know that you know it will come in time, with more live experience, but having the confidence to relax into those “howls”, and maybe even double the length of them could push that notion further. Top notch stuff though, as ever!
