22 and could barely handle 50miles? Man card revoked . At 36 and out of shape I can still putt 100 mile ditch days on my XLT

Honestly to complain about rider rear sleds as much as these guys do leads me to believe nobody knows how to ride anymore 🙄

You’ve never experienced snowmobiling unless you’ve cracked the throttle wide open on a 90’s polaris triple! You’ll be grinning ear to ear. I had a 94 super sport and 96 XLT and I rode a 98 XC700 right up until I bought my new Switchback in ‘15. I’d pound out 100+miles a day on the XC but you’d definitely feel it. I still have the XC 700 as a spare the kids ride it and I take it out on the lake a few times a year.

I still love my 440 more then the newer machines. AN I still do 300 mile rides on the 440. hahaha You can tell that 440 the kid is riding there isn't set up right. Front shocks Maxed on the spring. Wasn't how to set them up. It's like a Harley sitting style vs a crotch rocket. Neither is any better then the other for there purpose and correct set up.

the 500s are actually really fun, they might not have the same spirit as a 440 but they take the beating like a champ. ive held my indy 500 at wot in 5 minutes and it didnt even over heat and i didnt lose nany compression that season either. what sled do you have? i got a 1990 indy 500 sks that is modded out.

I got the chance to ride an old XCR just a few months ago. First thing I noticed is how the handlebars hit my knees. Sitting position is awful. How did we ever think this was a good design?

I am 4th generations of Minnesota and owned over 30 snowmobiles and anything over a 600 is a waste 850s are for drunk salesmen who sit in The bar and talk on the phone and don't ride

That ‘97 440 is definitely outdated and underpowered to be in your fleet. I’ll take it off your hands so you can make room for the latest and greatest. Let me help you stay cutting edge.

I'm not sold on the new sleds , suspensions are great for jumping that's about it ,...I'll take my 97 & 98 XCR 440's ,way more fun I think,..of course I was riding,in the 90's so I'm partial....oh btw not all red rockets are red ...mine "orange" with yellow over the white xcr stickers ...no it's not for sale ,I know how rare it is LOL

That xcr 440 is a 98 not a 97. 97 models were white and offered in xc 440 for consumers and a xc 440 sp for competition that year. 1998 xcr sp 440 had ves whereas 1997 did not.

If Polaris thinks the best way to sell new sleds is to have their marketing machine insult the old sleds they need to give their heads a shake. A very stupid approach. And yes I blame polaris for what we just head from one of their mouthpieces. Hard-core guys still buy new but to be told our old stuff is outdated and you can't ride 200 miles a day on it makes me think twice. Maybe it's time to stop giving them my money and go back exclusively riding my old ones.
