Nice tutorial Streeter. Good information on the clutch springs. Another area to look at is your clutch weights, are they a different weight for the XCR compared to the Trail? Probably the same, but something to check. I also like to use a dry lube to lube up the weights, bushings, and spider, it makes everything move smoothly. I use a Comet clutch lube, it sprays on like paint and drys with a graphite finish.

Yes. The weights were different. I pulled them from the original clutch and swapped them over. Good tip on the dry lube. I’ll need to find some.

If you look carefully there is an x on the faceplate and the spider all you have to do is make sure they're inline when putting together

Is that all there is to it? The way people talk about clutching they made it sound like you had to have all kinds of special tools and years of experience. Are all brands of clutches about the same? Thanks Tom I am sure glad your here!

For changing the weights and springs. It’s pretty easy. Once you get into removing the spider assembly this is where you need the special holding devices and everything else. The torque rating on the spider assembly is about 290 foot pounds.

I'm still learning the whole sled stuff. Lol. I've always wandered if there's any reason I would want to swap out the stock spring or weights on my fusion 600? I know enough that you my man are the sled Guru! Lol. I understand that the right combination moves sled at different rpms just want to know if any reason to mess with the stock set up. Thanks

Yes - Clutching is a art form and I'll be the first one to admit that I look for guidance from others before I make any changes. As far as Fusion content. Cam's 600 is in the garage and I have a bunch of stuff to do with it. So stay tuned for that.
